Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Vlad not making good contact.. Again inside. He is late on the inside fastballs...he could be looking offspeed
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 I can see them sending vladdy down Then you havent watched or followed baseball lmao
xposbrad Verified Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Vladdy suck Vladdy needs to lose 15-20lbs. He may have been able to carry that extra weight in AAA but he's not fast enough for MLB at that weight.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 "He is a threat to bunt", so... he's not a threat is what you're saying?
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Vladdy needs to lose 15-20lbs. He may have been able to carry that extra weight in AAA but he's not fast enough for MLB at that weight. The stats I've seen say he's fast enough... I think they reported an above average sprint speed today. His bat speed on the other hand... probably fine. They report good exit velocities. That being said he looks awful with the eye test, nothing but choppers and strikeouts... OK that's an exageration. There have been a couple of liners right at people, but definately way more strikeouts then we expected and probably more ground balls.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Vladdy suck When is he sent down?? It doesn't make any business sense to waste service time on this. If it doesn't turn around he will be back in Buffalo (note I am not saying "he will be back in Buffalo" I am saying IF it doesn't around he's back in Buffalo, happened with Delgado, happened with Trout kind of (went down for 3 weeks in 2012), Vladdy will be in Buffalo end of May if this continues.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Author Posted May 5, 2019 I don't know if Vladdy wasn't trying there, but he did not get to first fast at all. That was Tellez speed to 1B on the dp. I can see them sending vladdy down Is sports net going to have a big party the second time Vlad comes up from Buffalo cause right now it looks like he needs to go back down *facepalm*.gif

Obviously he’s probably gonna be fine and it’s a small sample, etc...but I am pretty shocked to see so many Ks. And not just Ks but awful swings and misses.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 He's such a piece of s***. Fist pumping and whooping it up after his ground ball
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 *facepalm*.gif Obviously you don't think this will continue. Logically it won't but if it does he's down. His k% is way to high. His ground ball percentage is insanely high. His ground ball to fly ball is ridiculous. At what point is it meaningful?? At what point do people have a right to be dissapointed?? At what point to they have a right to be worried? ** ** there is no earthly reason given scouting reports and minor league track record that this will continue other than a mental issue or an injury. Mental issues and injuries have happened to others.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 On the good side Vlad has a shot at getting his first game without a k since his game 1. Only 1 more at bat to go. If he can just popup he has a k-less game. That would be his first career popup... though they might be too much to ask, so I'm just hoping for another chopper..

Sportsnet had an article on Trout the other day. After dominating in the double-A Texas League, posting a .950 OPS in 75 games, he was brought up July 8th in 2011 at age 19 and went .163/.213/.279 in 14 games. He went back to AA and was only there for 16 games, picking up where he left off by batting .333/.408/.587. He was back in the majors Aug. 19, performing at a far more respectable .250/.318/.450 clip over the final 26 games. At the start of 2012 Trout spent three weeks at triple-A Salt before rejoining the Angels on April 28. He hasn’t looked back since.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Now you're trolling. I don't think I'm trolling. At least I'm not looking for a reaction, which is usually the point of trolling. He honestly hasn't had a popup yet... Just saying. Obviously I want to see him hit one 450 feet, like we all do. If he's gonna have bad luck, I'd atleast like to see the line drive, fly ball, ground ball and k rates turn around. Edit: Joey Votto doesn't hit popups either, so the popup rate can stay where it is, but everything else has to trend in the right direction.

You're sampling 7 games for christ sakes? Ya, you're trolling. I Said Good Day!
