Nah, Pillar is starting. Alford will end up getting a lot of AB's this season, though. I think Montoyo will be playing a bunch of different lineups on a day to day basis.

This makes a lot of sense, but unfortunate with Alford thinking he’d made it. At least he knows he’ll get a chance when an outfielder gets injured / traded.

 

Pleased for Tellez, he has come back well from his horror year when his Mum was really sick.

Maybe they traded Pillar and the deal fell through for whatever reason. I wouldn't be shocked if Pillar is shipped out very soon especially if Alford gets off to a hot start in Triple-A.

I dont think Alford's play would be the deciding factor in a Pillar trade. As soon as they get something the perceive as decent value he'll be gone, even if Alford is injured
