Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 I guess it's spring and it doesn't really matter, but lol umps. Thank God for video replay in the regular season.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2019 Author Posted March 9, 2019 (edited) Wishful thinking on your part, if he’s not traded he’ll be the starting CF. Pillar will be out of MLB within a few years, might hang around in the minors as depth for a few years after that. No reason for a rebuilding team to play him over younger options. I guess the only reason to start him is hope he has a hot start and can return something interesting Edited March 9, 2019 by Jimcanuck
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 pillar sucks he has to be 4, maybe 5 on the OF depth chart going into a rebuilding season He's #1 cause he's a vetrin.
tercet Verified Member Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 (edited) Stop hating pillar, hes not the problem, AAAA scrubs like The Mirage are, who knows why he is making the 25 man roster, let alone 40. The mirage had a mirage'ian at bat today, swinging at a r/r slider that was 2-3 feet off the plate for strike 3, he will never learn. Edited March 10, 2019 by tercet
tercet Verified Member Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Snead didn't look too bad, he hit 93 on the gun, was high 80s when I saw him in NH last Sept. He threw 8 sliders all located well from what I recall and 1 fb. I think he will get a chance this year prob if he can cut down his walks.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Stop hating pillar, hes not the problem I mean, he's not the problem NOW, but a guy who just hit 30, and whose value is tied to defence and base-running with an ABYSMAL bat is going to be a problem in the near term.

Pilar is a problem because he's not a championship calibre starting CF. That's not his fault... And that's not a problem that's going to be fixed overnight, but this team is trying to add high end talent (at least I hope they are)... He doesn't fit into that. If you're not a building block piece I have no use for you.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 You should. No team has 9 starting building block position players, 5 building block starters and a bunch of building block relievers. They don't. But that doesn't mean you aren't constantly trying to improve yourself at every position when you can. There is a ton of improvement to be made in CF. No bat, declining speed, and declining defence is not something we should be excited about patrolling our CF. He's probably going to be here cause we have no better options that are ready, but that doesn't mean I don't want him replaced as soon as humanly possible.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Pilar is a problem because he's not a championship calibre starting CF. Aaron Rowand Colby Rasmus/Jon Jay Angel Pagan Jacoby Ellsbury Angel Pagan again Lorenzo Cain Dexter Fowler George Springer JBJ I see what you mean though...you can't win a WS without an elite CF
