Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 No. It looked like he was apologetic right away. Yeah, he clearly realized immediately that he made a mistake. I will say that I thought he handled things well afterwards. He didn't try to make excuses. He made it clear that he realized he f***ed up, and apologized.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Marcus Stroman isn’t half the douche that Bauer is. Terry Francona walked right up to him on the field and said “What the f*** is wrong with you?” At least Bauer had the dignity to apologize profusely. He could have seriously injured a fan, to say nothing of the sportsmanship aspect. He will surely be suspended and fined also, but won’t miss more than a start. f***ing idiot. This is actually far worse than what David Wells did, and that’s been on the blooper reel for 20+ years.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 What Bauer did was hilarious. What a guy If you're a 16 year old teenager looking at it, sure.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Guys, I'm proposing we ban home runs. They could seriously hurt fans, apparently

Or just put up netting all around the OF so everyone has a safe space to enjoy the baseball game of their choosing.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Love it. Freddie seems like a good guy
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Yep, they traded for stroman to go for it, didn't they Possibly, no-one knows, lol. They'd look decent next year if they spend some money to fill holes.

In my earlier days I saw fans reach over the ledge at a stadium trying to catch a ball, fall over onto the field to their death.

I still love the stories about the bleacher bums racing along the top of the Wrigley Field fence - all for a free beer.......regularly falling onto the field in injuring themselves (sometimes requiring an ambulance to drive onto the field to clean them up). The solution? Add f***ing baskets on the field side of the fence to catch the bums and install a peak on top of the fence. At one point in our history - things were easier than they are today.

Funny how people will risk their lives for a free beer and/or free baseball.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Wow, The Braves traded Kolby Allard to rent Chris Martin.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 I knew the Padres has a stacked system, but holy f*** I had no idea HOW stacked: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2839611-ranking-all-30-mlb-farm-systems-post-2019-mlb-draft#slide30 Also a good write up on the former Mets prospect Kay, before he sucked ass in AAA. I know it's not PC, but the Stroman trade has really grown on me.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Between Stroman, Bauer, and Puig, there are some serious nutbars moving this deadline.

jimedmonds Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 exactly. I said Mike Trout as well. Ohtani has a unique skill set by virtue of the fact that he can pitch, hit, throw, etc., but Mike Trout is arguably the best positional baseball player of the modern era. Mariano Rivera is the best reliever of all time. Does the fact that he can't throw with his left hand as well make Pat Venditte more talented at baseball? lol
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 I'd like to see Mike Trout try to pitch, haha. This guy just has some weird boner for Ohtani. He's obsessed. Don't expect a rational response.
