Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 He sucks because he doesn’t light up the radar? When you put up a 3.8 fip in 97.2 big league innings don’t you at least deserve the opportunity to prove you’re s***. Interesting you don't bring up his xFIP or Steamer projection, which all peg him close to 5.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Travis hurt again. OH SURPRISE! He is jamming up the roster and not bringing anything to the table. His D sucks and his hitting is not offsetting his defensive liabilities. Dont mean to wish bad on someone, but 60 day IL or staring season at AAA would be fine by me. I was kinda hoping he’d be non-tendered. I’ve been tired of Travis for awhile now.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I was kinda hoping he’d be non-tendered. I’ve been tired of Travis for awhile now. We agree again. You better check your meds.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Interesting you don't bring up his xFIP or Steamer projection, which all peg him close to 5. Well steamer has him close to 5 so we should probably DFA him and clear up a spot on the 40. That Richard is the guy that I'm excited to see. He's only 35. He might really surprise us with some upside this year.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 My point was that this isn't a can't miss talent. Him being in AAA is fine and #5 starters are fine but not really that big a deal. That's fair.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Interesting you don't bring up his xFIP or Steamer projection, which all peg him close to 5. Why would you put the pitcher with most QS on the team last year in AAA. ACEucki was on the same pace the year Stroman got like 14. ACEucki did that againt Houston, AL East, teams in the playoff race or playing for position. Bottom line, best Blue Jay SP in 2018 and better than Richards’s last two years in the NL. Giving ACEucki a SP spot coming out of ST is not a gift, he earned it more then any other pitcher he is battleing against and how they pitched in 2018. It will be blasphemy not to give ACEorucki a spot based on 2018 performance vs the competition.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Anybody get the feeling Buchholz was signed because Clayton Richard wont be ready for the start of the season?

My point of view is that I don't care if Borucki makes the rotation or pitches in AAA because he's nothing special. If he makes the rotation, great. If he doesn't, great. Anyone getting upset if he starts in AAA needs a bit of a reality check.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 That's not what I said Mr. Strawman. Me strohkopf. Me no smart like boxcar willy. I asked you earlier. Do you actually expect the Jays to compete for a wildcard this year? I don't. I actually prefer Reid Foley over Borucki by quite a bit. I just think they should each pitch north of 100 innings in the majors this year. This is the year to get the process of starting to figure out what type of players you have and help their development. I don't want to see Morales or Smoak playing after July unless you plan on resigning Smoak. We have a ridiculous amount of dollars to spend starting next year. They may not actually start spending it, but it's there. We need to get some young guys some time.

Some of actually feel like he may be better than a 5, but acknowledge he just be a 5 or worse. The entire world knows Richard is crap.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Are you snowed in, bro? This will never happen, lol. The money alone is a dream. So My Money actually was not a Dream My low was Fifteen mill and High was 29.5 mill to get the pitchers I Named spank ! So the Dream was actually not to bad or closer those who thought otherwise too! Even if the unsigned or those who accepted Minor league invites signed for one mill It would be 21.3 mill or two 25.3 ! Salary wise I had 29.5 and all the bullpen I could have traded away or added to a stroman deal or pillar or morales deals that should have been made also!

We pretty much know what Richards is. In a season where we're most likely going to be a bottom 5 team why not use the opportunity to give him a full season with the Jays and see if he can handle it, adjust, and continue to improve. Sprinkle some names in to fool them and stay Somewhat competitive just to fool them into hoping ... one Day one day the dumpster diving teams will win again ! Damn To is funny thinks the are more important to Canada and the World and the only pro team that wins you losers do not support but the losers without championships you ! News Flash you are not American or will be and the NFL hates you ! Lol

The only way Borucki doesn’t get to 100+ innings in the majors this year is if he’s hurt or terrible. People make waaaaaay to much of what the 25-man roster looks like on game 1.

Yup, there'll be plenty of innings in the show to go around. Join the league B's I'm in that one too.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Also I still think my pitchers on a 3 day rotation as I put in here to discuss and it was dismissed mocked on money for one pitcher and given no discussion is better then how or what we will use or do this year as a whole too ! Outside the box and norm maybe but Dinasours donÂ’t get it , but thought there might have been a stat geek who would have found that a pitcher throwing 40- 60 pitches max or only 3 innings would get some statistical plus and the idea would gain traction with the Stats Geeks Damn epic Fail On that happening !

Your suggestion needs expanded rosters, money, and the MLBPA/MLB would never agree to it, don't be salty B's.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 But then again I might be the only one who would leave Vladdy in AAA for the season As building a winning Culture takes winning And building a leader takes leading a team to wins and a Championship! Both will not happen much at the MLB team this year and if buffalo wins it all and double AA as well I think serves the future better as a team and teammates wise , sorta a been there done that ... Beat you there gonna beat you in the Majors to kinda attitude !
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 No it would not I have four pitchers lined up for for each Day and the fourth may not even be needed most days ! Pitches per inning is what 15.5 per inning so not like 46.5 per game to 60 would be taxing thier arms and less times though the rotation canÂ’t hurt either You just do not have a bullpen and if you add a 13th pitcher you could add a closer I guess still too ! Innings wise they all only would pitch 162 only ! And under sixty pitches is under and within the guide lines for ever youth baseball even too... Hurl would probably be able to confirm that I know I read a article that supported it or as guidelines !
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Brandon Lowe beat the Jays today! Smoak/Drury/Bichette and Pentecost all went deep. Stroman seems to have pitched well. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/rays-vs-blue-jays/2019/03/02/566853#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=566853
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Yeah I’m rooting for Travis but I think he’s done. He has progressively gotten worse every year and injuries have destroyed his body.
