A few boos from the SJW's, but mostly indifference, is my guess. I think people grossly overrate how sports fans react to these things, rightly or wrongly. Baseball in Toronto, especially with NHL and NBA starting up soon, is losing steam anyway. I doubt it will be much of a reaction.

Yeah, politics, social justice and all that s*** just.... f*** off and leave sports alone. When I watch a sport, i want to watch the sport, not hear about the world's fake problems from people who wouldn't know fake news from fake tits.

I'm watching the game on MLB.tv and saw the Ramon Laureano 321-foot throw to double off the runner at first base. I've seen that highlight lots of times, but I just feel compelled to put that into perspective. That's 107 yards, longer than the length of a football field. And the throw couldn't have been more on the money than it was.

Hey now, it's shorter than REAL football fields, not those tiny things the Yanks use.

I don't know if there is an actual measurement, but Jose Guillen's throw in Colorado looked like a farther distance, and like Laureano's, it was on the money. But still, it was Coors and that throw took a major arc, where as Laureano's didn't.

Tell me NFL calibre talent playing the CFL game wouldn't be way better?

Maybe? I enjoy the grind of the typical NFL game, though.

Toronto fans - keeping it classy to someone who saved 100+ games. More SJW's than baseball fans. Hope he saves it for the stro's.

He hasn't even gone through the process, or convicted. It's embarrassing.

I'm still curious as to why he accepted the 75 game suspension then? Could he have appealed it to wait for the court case decision?

It's likely the league's domestic violence agreement would have found he broke baseball's code of conduct, even if legally he isn't found guilty. That's what I would assume anyway.

I can't stand the 40 second play clock, 400 time outs per game, or the fair catch.

Agreed. 30 seconds should be plenty. As for the fair catch, I much prefer the CFL's strategy there. Also, back the kickers up on kickoffs FFS. Every ball going through the end zone is just silly.

Last Osuna thought of the day... From the CBC style guiltyuntilproveninnocent post-game remarks, 2 of 3 of the Sportsnet guys are shoulder deep up Rogers' arse. As said earlier in today's post, they should focus on sports and keep their faux politics to themselves.

He still wouldn't be playing today then, he was likely advised by his agent to just take the suspension. He still hasn't even plead yet, remanded again, the court process is painfully slow. Also his lawyer made it quite clear his decision was no admission of guilt. The MLB's player conduct policy is quite harsh.

Exactly...they shouldn't have an opinion. The real athletes back in the day, like Ali kept their opinions and views out of sports and that is why he is so well thought of today. And broadcasters like Cosell, made sure that the broadcast stayed on the right topic...who won or lost. They don't do it like that anymore...it's too political now.

For the record I was at the game and did not boo nor cheer.
