gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 It's ridiculous how 105 pitches now creates such a red flag in not allowing the kid a chance at the complete game shutout.

Yeah just let the guy with a previous Tommy John in his first year potentially throw 120+ pitches. That'll end well.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Tim Mayza is f***ing filthy. I love him.

Given Borucki's history, I would have understood taking him out after 7. The game means nothing, and one of us could come out of the pen and put up 0's against the Orioles.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Oh please.. For a finesse type pitcher who rarely throws breaking balls? Finesse pitcher or not he's had a serious injury before lmao. He's not literally Mark Buehrle, there's no need to push him and potentially build up injury risk.

HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but when the O's lose tonight it will tie their franchise record for losses in a season since they became the Orioles in 1954. Really unbelievable how bad they've been. By the end they'll have blown well past it and probably end up with around 115 losses.

bzapple Verified Member Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 I don't get the point of the braille uniforms. Are people supposed to go up to each player and feel out the dots on their jersey to figure out who they are? I feel like that wouldn't be a very common occurrence.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 I missed the start of the game, what's up with the Orioles jerseys? Just too embarrassed to wear the name Orioles now?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2018 Author Posted September 18, 2018 I missed the start of the game, what's up with the Orioles jerseys? Just too embarrassed to wear the name Orioles now? For the National Blind Foundation, I believe.

Braille jerseys in honour of the National Federation of the Blind who have had their headquarters in Baltimore for 40 years now. The jerseys will be auctioned off and proceeds will go to the organization.

I'm thinking selling them goes to the foundation.

I'm guessing it's just to raise awareness, but it definitely is rather odd. With the technology improvements being made right now, I suspect it won't be very long until they'll be able to give blind people synthetic eyes.
