Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 I will admit that is nice throw.. Is he back on the juice...?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Gibby let SRF pitch way too long. Not sure what the point was after he gave up the lead.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Rowdy strikes again. First career MLB donger.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 The defense this inning is painful to watch
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Shapiro better use some of those prospects we are stocking to get some pitching. We can have 9 Guerros and we will still be short on pitching.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Not sure what Gibbys thought process there was on those pitching changes. You go to Shafer the walk machine and then Leiter Jr after a bounce back inning.

You go to Shafer the walk machine and then Leiter Jr after a bounce back inning. The thought process is to see if these guys can be anything in the future or not. They aren't doing anyone any good being on the roster and not getting a chance to pitch especially when wins aren't gonna help the Jays anymore this year
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Man Morales bleeds so much baserunning value. It's no wonder his xWOBA is like .100+ points higher, he hits the ball hard constantly but between the shift and the sheer amounts of sure thing doubles that he loses as singles it kills his true offensive output.

Given his speed there's probably a real case for him to be bunting down third against the shift until they stop shifting him. The doubles threat is already mitigated to a degree by his speed, and the chance of a homer is low enough that if he was successful bunting even 50% of the time it would likely be a net gain. If anyone wants to do the math and provide it, that would be great

He's just better off hitting like he is right now. But if I was him, I'd practice it a little maybe to surprise the defense every 100-150 PAs
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Lol @ get up ball, it wasn't close Buck.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Is that Rowdy's first MLB single? Edit: Yeppers.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Is that Rowdy's first MLB single? Edit: Yeppers. I believe so lmao. His first 7 hits all went for extra bases, that's gotta be another kind of record.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 nice poke by Tellez with the 2 strikes and against a guy tough on lefties he's got a chance to carve out a nice MLB career
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 That was a pretty nice At bat by Tellez to be honest Perez delivery can mess with you and he adjusted pretty well.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 We're 32.5 games back on September 8th, there is zero reason to take Tellez out of the game, especially with Jonathan Davis already in the game. Then why do we keep taking MCkinney out for a PH. We are trying to win and we have an expanded roster. 8th inning at home down 1.

They're not waving the white flag but right now winning is probably less important than giving the young guys a chance to prove themselves.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Angel Hernandez sucks balls, water is wet...
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 not even close to a strike
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 How could that have possibly looked like a strike from Angel's vantage point? Christ, he sucks.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 How could that have possibly looked like a strike from Angel's vantage point? Christ, he sucks. Only called because Smoak kind of questioned the first "strike".
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 I was about to point out how bad the ump has been but upon realizing it's Angel Hernandez I guess it's been a good game by his standards.
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Is anyone else upset that gibby pinch hit for jansen? I think that's a good example of why hes not as good of a manager for the young players. Let the future of the franchise win a game for you maybe
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 I assume Maile is in there so they can PH for Urena in the bottom of the 9th?

Let the future of the franchise win a game for you maybe Yes, I want the young guys given ABs as much as possible. In this I am in agreement with Orgfiller. What I thought made sense was PR for Tellez in bottom of the 8th 1 run game. We shall see...
