It would probably be a good idea to start a new blog with a better title (same as the podcast). At the very least it would be a place to dump written content related to the podcast.

I'm fine with that, I'm not a big fan of the Breaking Blue thing anyway but my creativity on these matters is limited.

I also think that calling it Breaking Blue would create expectations of cutting edge progressive analytics.

Yes, I'd assemble the talking points and whatnot. You guys can chip in if you want but I honestly just want people to talk. If you and Laika are on board I can have a 4 man panel with me, you two dolts and P2F. I think that would be pretty good. And, like you said, if my talking points suck just try to piss me off, I've been told I'm funny when I'm mad.

Yes please.

How about Blue Jays Hangout

Posted

I'd like to participate as a regular caller.

Ideally, the host would announce that it's Greenwood, again.

And then everyone could either sigh or groan as they prepare for me to argue something that no one else agrees with.

And then after a couple of minutes of arguing, the host could hang up on me, and end with some pithy, condescending remark.

This is a good idea

I'm pretty sure a simulcast commentary would certainly be something you would need written consent from the Jays to do

I'm fairly certain that as long as it's just audio there isn't much they can legally do. It's essentially just talking about a game with a bunch of your friends.

Not if it's monetized it's not.

I recommended the Zoom H2 and the Snowball Blue to Boxy. Thoughts?

Would definitely listen to a panel of Boxy, njh, Dinger, and P2F. Hopefully this ends up happening.

Come on guys, I know I can count on P2F but I'd really not put anything more on you guys than you want to handle. I promise.

I haven't personally used either of them but they appear to be legit not big budget options. I'd probably lean towards the Snowball

I would love to help. Either as a host or as someone who comes up with an agenda each week to follow or possibly both.

Interesting, I'll keep it in mind. Would be good to keep the soyboys in line.

I'm a little worried about a lack of content, I'd kinda want some consistent segments. For sure, I'd want a dedicated segment each week to s***ing all over Oriloles Hangout.

I also want visuals and an intro + a Donald Trump sound board but I'm such a noob and have to learn how to incorporate it all.

Potential consistent content areas: Minor league reports, analyzing a prospect in length, stories on Jays legends (Stieb, Fernandez, Bell, etc), potential trades or trade targets, how much the Orioles suck, Jays draft prep. There are so many ways to get content especially if there are like 4 of you.

I believe spats goes to a lot of the low A (or high-A) games, if he was up to contributing he may be able to get some scouts or players to do a short interview. We also have a lot of prospect nerds on the board so one of them may be willing to do the prospect analyzing segment.

So how are we looking on this?

I'll roll with P2F and Terminator but I want Laika. Until he tells me no, I'm going to wait. After that, we can probably start looking at our first recording.

I'very downloaded Audacity, an open source free audio editor so I'm gonna start playing with that over the next little while in preparation of the possibility of actually needing it

Can confirm that the snowball has good sound quality and pretty affordable, I’ve owned one for about two years.

Only thing is you need to talk pretty close to it.

I have experience with blogs and Wordpress if you guys plan to start one.

Monetize it? LOL. You're all SABR nerds, so you'll alienate all of the casuals. So the total audience will be about the size of the core group. You guys might as well just build yourselves a tree house and sit around and talk xwOBA.
