I've noticed that as prospects get closer to the majors, they tend to get into programs and lose weight. If this is post-program Vlad, wow. Could be trouble.

Sandoval is fatter than Vlad and has always been a good defender at 3rd. The weight obviously doesn't work in his favour but it also doesn't automatically disqualify him.

Yeah, I don't see his weight being a major problem until he hits free agency, at which time we can just let someone else worry about it if we choose to.

I agree it shouldn't automatically disqualify him, but Sandoval is more of an exceptional case, we probably shouldn't expect Vladito to be quite as mobile there unless he really is. I'm just pointing out what everyone else sees, he's thicc and that generally doesn't translate well to average or better defense at the hot corner. It won't be an issue if he hits like he can.
