Pretty sure he lives near Oakland, probably just wanted to join the team for a bit before they head out.

I forget he even existed until you mentioned him.....#Tulosucks.

I hope it's Tulo.

Tulo only usefulness for the remainder of his deal might be mentoring Bo Bichette. They already have a relationship and that might be a positive thing in Spring Training and whatever role Tulo plays on this team next year.

That ain't nothin' in savings... Hopefully they're allowed to use that and it doesn't just go into Rogers' pocket.

Its quite odd that they said LGJ would be out 2-6 weeks yet still list him on the roster.

Bisons twitter account just said the Jays are calling up Brandon Cumpton and Darnell Sweeney. Puke

The name Cumpton always makes me giggle.

So childish. Probably Stroman controlling the AUX

Without a doubt. Bet they didn't ask his permission for any of the recent trades.

Do we know if its pronounced Cump-ton or Comp-ton. I went to school with a kid named Brandon Compton so that shits going to be weird to hear. But hes probably only here for a few days anyway.

Straight outta Cumpton, another crazy ass pitcha

More punks I smoke, yo, my rep gets bigger

I'm a bad motherf***er, and you know this

But the pussy-ass hittas won't show this

But I don't give a f***, I'ma make my strikes

If not from the records, from pitching or likes

B-C-28 spells Brandon, but I'm raw

See, ‘cause I'm the motherf***ing villain

The definition is clear, you're the witness of a killin'

That's taking place without a clue

And once you're in the box, your ass is through

Look, you might take it as a trip

But a pitcha like Brandon ain't gonna tip

Straight outta Cumpton

So, I'm wondering about 2019. Do you see a massive youth movement happening...a partial youth movement with warm bodies signed to fill in some holes with the plan to move them at next years deadline...or do you see another hardcore dumper diving fiesta with the intent to move everyone again for pieces next deadline?

Middle one. Tulo, Kendrys and Martin really create the impossibility if a true youth movement (thankfully the latter 2 will be gone after next season at the latest). They'll try to pick up a few warm bodies on the cheap to fill some gaps in the rotation, pen and bench that they will hope to flip at the deadline and next year will look very similar to this year.

Then 2020 will be the first true youth movement year with Tulo's corpse still being paid 20 million, with lots of leeway to add.

I would hope that we do the same thing as we did last offseason. Add veterans at a reasonable cost to fill holes and win as many games as possible. When the young players are ready, give them PT and move the veterans if needed.

I think they will need to trade a young controllable asset with the caveat someone picks up Morales's contract etc..

We have Drury, Solarte, Diaz, Gurielle. Hopefully May, 2019 Vlad Jr, Jansen, Bichette and Biggio in the wings, Smoak, Travis, Donaldson on the QO (My guess), Tulo, Martin, We need to get rid of some of the old baggage not only for salary, but they are blocking.. I don't think we traded Happ for guys who will linger in AAA. So, the only way to get out of those s*** contracts is to eat some salary and send a team something young a controllable and make them pick up a Martin, or Morales for example..

Transition year. One year deals for vets hoping to flip them and play or acquire flawed players with upside for reasonable cost to see if they can turn it around (Grichuk, Drury, Diaz types).

I think 2020 is when we will see a lot of young players on the mlb team at once.

This FO knows how to get rid of Morales if they really want to, but some team (AL only given his lack of every baseball skill needed to play elsewhere) would have to be desperate. I doubt we see either Morales or Martin gone before the end of 2019. Maybe Morales has somewhat of a bounceback second half 2018/1st half 2019 and maybe some AL club will get desperate, but I doubt it. Hell, they may even bite the bullet and DFA him if he hovers around replacement/sub-replacement level..... but again, I doubt it.

Martin is moveable next year at the deadline if he's even half competent with the bat next season simply due to his defensive reputation and vetrin presents.

So, Tulo, JD, Martin and Morales are being mentors. Thanks a lot of expensive mentoring!

Will Tulo every play again? Is he working out? Why was JD moved to the 60?
