Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Don't you have laundry to do? Wat? Do you? Is that the reference? It's MLB ball bro, it's all I'm saying.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Wat? Do you? Is that the reference? It's MLB ball bro, it's all I'm saying. So you're trying to f***ing tell me hitters can't stay short with two strikes and try to hit the ball where it's pitched in the MLB? Look at all the good hitting teams, don't be a moron.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Jays D needs a whipper snapper, I'll give you that!

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Martin being really lazy on that passed ball by not dropping down and blocking that.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Apply. It's about obtaining those types of players mainly, as most players don't listen to their hitting coaches anyway.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Kinda want the Jays to aim for the #1 draft pick.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Kinda want the Jays to aim for the #1 draft pick. You don't say... lol
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 With the Jays a steep 11 games back (dang Mariners and Astros!), along with a 14.5 game deficit against the Red Sox, it'll be interesting what Shapiro and Atkins do in a month's time.. obvious the Jays are going into full-blown rebuild as Vlad Jr. and Bo Bichette approach the majors. Question will be what they'll get for Happ, Donaldson, some relievers, possibly Pearce if he gets healthy..
Banned. Verified Member Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Not a single Blue Jay other than Happ is worthy of the All Star game this year, sad!
Banned. Verified Member Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Your active Blue Jays WAR leader, none other than Luke Maile
Banned. Verified Member Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 There was some article about Pillar being a candidate for the AS game because of his bat... his BAT... REALLY??? One thing we can all bet on his Pillar is going to Pillar at the dish.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Your active Blue Jays WAR leader, none other than Luke Maile Really? That's hilariously awesome
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Your active Blue Jays WAR leader, none other than Luke Maile He can be our lone All-Star rep.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 He can be our lone All-Star rep. That would be awesome
MarcoSanchez Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 A point that doesn't get brought up enough is the Steve Pearce and Kendrys Morales signing. The two signings were seen as an offset to Edwin Encarnacion for a two year time Horizon. So far since the beginning of 2017, Edwin has been worth 3.5 WAR while Morales and Pearce have combined for a -1.3 WAR. That is almost a 5 win swing. The cost of Morales and Pearce was same as Edwin on an annual basis. Going cheap doesn't always pay off, and sometimes it never pays off. The first two years of the Deal Edwin probably ends up being 6 WAR. While we are worse off then replacement value, that alone paid off the final two years off the Encarnacion deal. I think Shapiro should address this point during their player evaluation.

He may have never intended to re-sign with the Jays, which would explain the quick signing of Morales. Who knows.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 We offered him a better deal than he took. Seriously man. Yes..... and EE may have been pissed off at the Jays offer, told Shatkins he is not re-signing with the Jays. This would explain the quick cut bait and signing of Morales.
leaffie Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Or it might have been that EE was trying to get the most he could, and before negotiations really started, Shapiro signed Morales.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Its funny because EE struggles every April then around late May always turns back into a beast.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Jays are averaging attendance of 26,795 fans per game this season Way down from last year (39,554) and I don't know what would make it get better at this point

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 I don't think the attendance numbers will dip much more below that. We aren't even into summer yet. Once we are they will probably average closer to 30-32k a game regardless of the team performance.
