Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 You guys are living in a bygone era, the name of the game today is missing bats, everything else comes second. If anything, a high leverage reliever needs to prioritize that even more. You seem to be overvaluing the weight of your opinion on Osuna's gameplan vs that of the pitching coaches and game callers, not to mention results, all of which don't seem to share your opinion. Again, you can live around the strike zone when you have great stuff and an elite ability to spot it on the black.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Donaldson, Martin and Travis all get days off. Supposedly just a day off for Donaldson to give him 2 in a row but it seems like this would have been a good day to get him in as the DH instead.

That's too many regulars, I think something might be up with his calf, he hasn't ran out a couple plays the last couple of games.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Gibby playing Pick Up Sticks with the lineup. It looks like crap today. At least we are playing the shitbird Orioles so we've still got a good chance to sweep.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 O's line-up... suxxxxxxxxxxxx 1. Trey Mancini ® LF 2. Manny Machado ® SS 3. Jonathan Schoop ® 2B 4. Adam Jones ® CF 5. Pedro Alvarez (L) DH 6. Chris Davis (L) 1B 7. Tim Beckham ® 3B 8. Craig Gentry ® RF 9. Chance Sisco (L) C
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 This might have been a good game to give Martin the start at 3rd. Gift probably isn't necessary with Estrada pitching.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 That lineup is gross. So we might score 8 runs tonight. I will never understand why Gibbons decides to give off days right before an off day. I mean Donaldson couldn't have at least DH'ed
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 At least i have the jets to watch in place of this lol..... These are the games that we end up winning because i think all is lost.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I know if I was Shatkins I would say WTF Gibby ????
AledmysDiaz Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Looks like we are throwing the third game, Gibby got money on the Os?
doorknob Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Donaldson, Martin and Travis all get days off. Rally killer Travis should be given an off day every game day for the rest of the season.

doorknob Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Please, stop. Respectfully, so far Travis is not giving me any reason to like him tbh. He's been 0-for-7 in this series, and while it's still early days, batting 0.088 is not something you want to see from a guy paid a six-figure salary to be your "star second baseman." I understand that his career stats are impressive, but he's a streaky guy and to me that means he's unreliable—I'd prefer to see consistent output from a player.. And being as fragile as Brett Lawrie isn't quite helping his case either. Rather see Bo Bichette out there instead right now.

But taking a small sample size and saying that this player sucks because of it is probably not the smartest thing that has been said in the forum.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Talk about overreacting to a lineup. It isn't that bad, and the Orioles blow.

Pick one. No its a weaker lineup.... No where did i say it sucks, but if you look at the career numbers which give you a more clear idea what to expect from guys like (Gift, Maile, Pillar hitting 5th,) you can come to the conclusion that if you run that lineup out there with any regularly your likely not going to score many runs. However you look and Devon Travis in a bigger sample size it shows that he is a pretty good hitter. He has had a s***** first 2 weeks doesn't mean he won't hit, certainly didn't mean that he couldn't last year when he had a rough start to the season.
