MLB is sad when people are forced to think like this. All about money and contracts and very little about the game. Between this and keeping prospects down for financial reasons... It's unfortunate. I liked it better in the 80s when you'd play when you were ready and the money would take care of itself.

Angels another suitor for Happ or Estrada if Ohtani is done for the season.

 

The Angels have had a poor farm for 5 years. But I would be happy with, say, Brandon Marsh and maybe a decent pitching prospect like Griffin Canning. I really like Marsh and I am not as sure about Alford and some other OF prospects as I once was.

Even if we don't trade with them, more demand is always nice to drive up the price.

Angels farm system has significantly improved, they have lots of interesting guys to target. Outfielders too, which might actually be our biggest need outside of pitching prospects (but I’d rather not trade for them)

They should consider him primarily a hitter going forward. Would be back in the lineup sometime in 2019 in that case.

Why the f*** is it MLB’s responsibility to prevent domestic assault? Is there any other employer tasked with this? And has anyone actually determined if baseball has a domestic violence problem? Maybe baseball players actually commit less violence than regular folks when controlling for whatever one should control for when doing such a study.

Holy crap Mike Trout is already at 5.2 fWAR. I wonder what player will win the MVP with an objectively inferior season this year. Jose Ramirez? I’m happy Betts got hurt.

Still Mookie Betts. Trout will out-WAR him by like 2 and out-wOBA him by 75 points, but Mookie will when when the Red Sox take the division title, his batting average is 3 points higher, and he finishes with 6 more RBI.
