LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 But even if he doesn't care about Canadian baseball: why does it matter? He's just stating how he feels, right? You either care about something or you don't. That's not a decision you make. I still don't see why anyone would take issue with him being honest and not giving a canned response. Yeah and thats fine, thats why I said " He's free to say and feel whatever he wants. He didn't need to apologize for it if that's how he feels" Im not starting a petition or forming an angry mob, I dont rightly care that much. Just from my perspective it would be nice if he did care and tried to help the growth of the game up here

Laika Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Joey Votto never needs to apologize for anything. Also, f*** Joey Votto.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 f*** you too, Votto. Hope you're stuck on that shithole state of Ohio for a long time.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Someone should ask Votto about Nick Pivetta's start today and see how he responds. 7IP 2H 1ER 1BB 11 k's
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Bartolo Colon has thrown 50 innings with a 2.86 ERA and 3.81 xFIP. This is my favourite development of the season.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Every time someone on this board calls someone a beta or a cuck, I think they're just awful. This is a really dumb comment that confirms my beliefs. I see cuck as you put me straight(looked it up, that one time), but I don't get beta any different from being called a woman or bitch, hell, you thanked Boxy's post of me as a red-head girl(character) in a post? A beta could be anyone in our walk of life, no? I get both arguments, though. Just saying... it's not being used as a political thing.

But I don't care where you are from, what ethnicity, etc, you should never forget that where you are at today and your success today had contributions from others; in Votto's cases, his coaches/mentors, etc.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 And the Dodgers lose again... That's 6 straight against the Reds and Marlins of all teams:o Christ, they're digging some kind of hole!
Ray Verified Member Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Justin Verlander just recorded his 2500th K of his career by striking out Ohtani. Also complete game shut out the Angels on 5 hits and 1BB on 118 pitches. He drops his ERA from 1.21 to 1.05. Should be a no doubt hall of famer, especially if he wins the Cy Young this season.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2018 Author Posted May 17, 2018 I find it fascinating that little guys Jose Ramirez, Mookie Betts, and Ozzie Albies are tied for the major league lead in jacks. wut.

Seamus Maxwell Verified Member Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 AL is -18 in interleague this year? Still early, but that's a little surprising. Wonder how long that will last.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 This is interesting:This spring, the league quietly experimented with a baseball with more tack, according to B/R sources. It wasn't done in exhibition games, and those with knowledge of the experiment say one of the myriad issues that arose was the darker color of the balls, making them more difficult for hitters to see.Baseballs used in Japan are universally acknowledged to have more tack than MLB balls, which can be trickier at times to handle, especially in cold weather, not only because the MLB balls are more slippery, but also because the seams are lower. St. Louis manager Mike Matheny, a member of MLB's Competition Committee, says Japanese studies on tackier baseballs are producing data pointing to fewer arm injuries.http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2776159-absolutely-im-all-for-it-mlbs-stars-debate-pitchers-using-pine-tar?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Machado just ruined Price's complete game shutout with two outs in the ninth. He still finished with under 100 pitchers though.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Over the past two seasons the best pitcher of the David Price for Daniel Norris trade has been Matt Boyd. Legit or no?

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Upton is about a career .270 hitter in an age where league average is ~.245. If anything he’s above average.
