Pretty cool to see that Jonny Venters has made it back to the bigs with the Rays, he's undergone three TJ operations.

Twins getting thoroughly destroyed in New York

#contenders

Obviously because they have no reliable starting pitching that can overpower Yankees hitters.. and even if Buxton was healthy and Polanco wasn't suspended, it wouldn't help.

How the f*** does Kershaw have six walks in five innings tonight?

That's what my DK lineup what's to know, I was in the money until that s*** happened.

Why is Profar hitting 3rd and Gallo 5th vs. a RHP?

Jed Lowrie and Matt Chapman are both top 6 in baseball in WAR (offensively)? I mean Chapman is a stud, but man they are off to great starts.

Corey Dickerson has the most defensive value of anyone in baseball right now? Man - small sample sizes are awesome.

Both Yankees and Angels are headed towards 90+ win seasons.

Alex Cobb's numbers are hilarious across the board. I wonder if Orioles fans are enjoying their new $57M man.

It's only 3 starts, he should be fine. IMO he's a solid middle rotation arm. Their overall rotation isn't good enough to let them compete though.

Why do they keep making deals like these.

2nd place was a good surprise and fun while it lasted in town :D

Let's be honest - most thought Cobb was a great FA target this offseason. I thought Lance Lynn was too and he's been hot garbage also.

Losing a pick for Cobb or Lynn was insanity. Glad we went with Garcia.

Garcia's looking like a stud compared to those 2... for now at least.

Yankees yes, Angels, no way.. that overused bullpen is going to come back to haunt them by the All-Star break (108 IP and still rising--and likely to soar this week with their series vs. the Yankees.) Angels are not a 16-9 team, especially with a middle of the road offense, with only Trout and Simmons being above average.. Justin Upton has been awful early this season (.235/.304/.398), Calhoun isn't hitting, Cozart has so far been a bust in LA (could've really used Moustakas!), and Pujols, after a strong start, is regressing back to his poor ways that make his contract an albatross.

They only have 2 decent pitchers in Skaggs and Richards--Ohtani has been whacked in his last 2 starts, and the other arms in Heaney/Tropeano/Barria/Bridwell/Ramirez/Shoemaker have either stunk or gotten injured, taxing the bullpen.

So has Darvish

6.86 ERA, 5.02 FIP, 0 WAR

Andrew Miller to 10-day DL (hamstring strain). Huge loss for the Indians pen.. considering how dominant he was. Nick Goody's going to have to step up--because McAllister/Otero/Belisle aren't cutting it for the bridge to Cody Allen. Lucky the AL Central is an absolute joke right now, with only Cleveland above .500.

Former Blue Jays reliever Jeff Beliveau has been called up.

Why do you hate the Angels so much?

Because they're a poorly managed club that has wasted Trout's prime. It's a franchise long overdue for a full-blown rebuild.. but owner Arte Moreno has wasted tons of money on guys such as Pujols, Hamilton, potentially Upton, (and that Cozart deal is already looking bad considering Moustakas would've been a better option--Cozart isn't even a good 3B, and belongs at SS or 2B, which are both blocked by an aging Kinsler and Andrelton Simmons.)

The lack of healthy and/or consistent starting pitching the last few years is really hurting this club--especially this year, which has forced the Angels to cycle through 21 pitchers (already!-- and that's more than the last place Reds.)

And really, without Trout or Simmons, this team would be a bottom-feeder in the AL.

It's April, writing off Upton and Cozart is premature. Trout, Ohtani, Simmons, Cozart, Upton should all finish with above average wRC+ and WAR.

Have you watched or paid close attention to any of Ohtani's appearances? He's been amazing with the bat and almost as good as advertised pitching. Unless his arm blows up he's going to put up a minimum of 6 WAR.

You keep saying the overworked bullpen is going to cost them late in the season as if bullpens are a set 7 or 8 people. They will end up cycling relievers from the minors and waiver claims just like every team does every year.

As various starters return from injury, their pitching should end up a strength. They will probally be buyers at the deadline, when they can add pitching and anything else they need.

I don't think that they are one of the elite teams, but I do think they have a good chance at making the playoffs at which point anything can happen.

You have a point about wasting Trout's career to date, but you're completely wrong that they should be blowing it up. IMO they had the best offseason improvement of any team.

Acuna hits the ball really, really hard. Three hits today, and two of his outs yesterday were deep line drives close to the track.

Ronald Acuna's having quite a day-- 3/4, 2 RBIs, 2 Rs, 2B, HR. And 3 doubles for Freeman..

Damn, I'm thinking we could pry Soroka from Atlanta for JD, if they keep this up. Hell, it's AA, we should be able to get Riley too.
