That is one hell of a steal on Gomez, unless the bonuses are ridiculous. Man, he would have looked really good here at even twice that price.

What do you find so weird about this? He was a shortstop his whole career but also played some third base in the later years. He won't be a Gold Glover but he should be able to handle all of these positions adequately. It was pretty dumb to use him as a 1B.

Yeah it's not that bad. Gomez might be better than Souza this year anyway. Steamer thinks it's close anyway. They'll probably try and trade Gomez at the deadline as well.

Yeah, Dyson over Zeke on this roster would have been amazing. Pearce isn't a real OF so I don't even count him in that group, so that would have given the Jays four capable outfielders on the big league roster.

If all things remain the same Pearce should be the starting DH and Morales should be a bench bat. So I'll give you that at least.

Let's remember Grandy is only here until Hernandez or Alford barges down the door for a starting job in Toronto--Gomez is only in Tampa because the Rays didn't want to pay future arb raises for Steven Souza Jr.
