Great offseaon for Jays, and the rest of the teams... f*** old man FA

 

We haven't extended JD or traded for a Stanton, but I have really, really liked all the moves so far. I would almost give the FO an "A" for this off season (which isn't over yet) if they signed some bullpen depth. A 7th inning rightue would be fine.

Salazar being hurt to start the season could explain why a trade between the Brewers and the Indians hasn't taken place. It would probably not get beyond the physicals with Salazar having shoulder inflammation.

Orioles infielder Manny Machado “wants to be a Yankee and the feeling is mutual,” Bob Nightengale of USA Today writes. The Yankees were among the teams that tried to trade for Machado over the winter, so it’s no surprise that they’re continuing to eye him a year before he hits free agency. Regarding offseason trade rumors, Machado said, “Thank God nothing went down and I was able to come back, and see my guys that I’ve been with for seven years.” Although the 25-year-old is content to be an Oriole for now, it seems highly unlikely he’ll remain with them past this year, considering the massive contract he’d land on the open market.

The f***? Dickerson is coming off a 2.6 fWAR season. There's no way he has zero trade value.

They still have 10 days to trade him, its possible they already have a trade that hasn't been announced yet. There are many teams that would trade an asset for Dickerson,

In that case there's absolutely no reason to DFA him. I'm assuming something happened (PED or behavioral issue) that tanked his value.

Rob Manfred better start taking action against the Rays if they're tanking.. so many teams trying for the #1 pick this year.

 

With so much tanking, Jays will be in the playoff mix with the Yanks, Red Sox, Angels, Astros and Indians. Not sure on the Twins..

Odorizzi wasn't good last year and even in his prime was a solid, but nothing special starter. Surprised, I actually thought he was better than he was. Getting out of the AL East should help him though.

Selling off everyone and anyone and f***ing up the free agent/trade market even more.. while JD Martinez, Arrietta, Hosmer, Moustakas, Lynn and Cobb are still jobless.

 

And the Rays are in a Expos-style selloff, selling off anyone making money.. right now, the projected Opening Day lineup is a steaming pile.. looking like a 90-loss team (and that might be low). Next up on the selloff, Chris Archer, Kevin Kiermaier, Steven Souza, DJ Kitty...
