thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 That was f***ing demolished by Taylor.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Darvish playing head games with Edwards Jr.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Wtf just happened? And why on earth is Ian Happ, not Jason Heyward playing CF?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Wtf just happened? And why on earth is Ian Happ, not Jason Heyward playing CF? I'm guessing because Schwarber can really only play LF, and Happ probably doesn't have the arm for RF. I think Heyward in CF would be smarter too, but I suspect that's the reasoning.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Seems kinda silly to pull Darvish there.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Seems weird on that kind of hit on the line in the playoffs not to have the ump who is standing and looking right at it make the call, rather than the one who has to turn around, dodge the ball, and look. The got it right regardless, just seems like not the best idea.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Sooo... LA vs the AL winner, neat.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 (edited) This play about sums this series up for the Cubs... The bullpen (Carl Edwards Jr.) walks the opposing pitcher (Darvish), on four pitches, with the bases loaded, forcing in a run. And the Wrigley fans booooooooooooooooooooo https://www.mlb.com/video/darvishs-bases-loaded-walk/c-1864106283?tid=94788780 https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/yu-darvish-drew-a-four-pitch-rbi-walk/ http://www.espn.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/46180/bases-loaded-walk-of-darvish-the-new-low-in-cubs-free-pass-haunted-october LMAO Edited October 18, 2017 by G-Snarls
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 5-2 4-1 6-1 Cubs have scored 2 runs in their last 21 innings against Dodgers pitching. They must be losing their minds in frustration.

The catcher goes to talk to Edwards, then the pitching coach during the same AB vs. Darvish? I mean FFS - he knows it's the pitcher and that he should throw a strike. Talk about adding pressure to the situation. If you have to go visit the guy when he's facing the pitcher who isn't swinging - you need to pull him.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 So far this series: Dodgers pitchers 32K 4BB Cubs pitchers 20K 18BB
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Well that was obliterated.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 WTF was that bullpen dance by the Cubs?
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Terrible call.....umps just embarrassed themselves.
baubau Verified Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Terrible call.....umps just embarrassed themselves. At least it didn't impact the game.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 At least it didn't impact the game. Directly no, but indirectly he had to throw an extra pitch....the impact, who knows? edit: he got out of it so no effect i guess. Still a brutal call that could have decided the game.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 19, 2017 Author Posted October 19, 2017 Cubs manage to win one and make it more exciting Then get to face Kershaw tonight
