Why changes to 4 pm start on Saturday home games?

Anyone have any idea why the start time is changing to 4 pm for Saturdays games. Most people have dinner between 4 and 7pm so is that not an inconvenience for those fans. Or do they want the fans to come out and eat at the concessions at Roger's center? Very difficult to feed 40K fans in 3hrs. TV viewers will need to bring their dinners to the TV set location.

I have heard rumors that a lot of people were complaining that the 1pm games were an inconvenience to those who enjoy a nice late Saturday lunch so they pushed the games back to 4pm so we could eat lunch in peace.

I remember in 2014 going a 4:00 to 7:00 game... that was crazy. It was actually an 18 inning game so It was like a 1:00 to 4:00 game and a 4:00 to 7:00 game all at once. That was back when Jose Bautista was good. He walked it off with a single to the wall, And Melky used to play for them too back then.

 

Wow it was a few years ago. I was hungry as hell, cuz I couldn't leave my seat, cuz I might miss a walk off in the bottom of the inning, and I didn't want to miss the top of the inning because Chad Jenkins was on fire. He pitched like 8 shut out innings that day. What a boss.

 

Anyway for the real 4:00 to 7:00 games I bet it will be a lot more relaxed and you will have time to figure it all out. It will be OK. I bet it will work out just fine.

I can't believe this. All my non baseball friends are eating dinner tonight, and here I will be sitting at home, starving like a moron.

 

I would order in, but it's going to be very difficult for restaurants to feed all of us in 3 hours.
