Unfortunately, they will probably pick up a couple of solid free agents still and make the playoffs next year with a solid young and developing team. Granted he would have put them over the top, I don't think it really matters, they are building a contender there for a while regardless. One of the teams that needed him the most was us, just because Yanks/Red Sox are so far ahead in the division now and have the financial resources to keep that spread even further.
