gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 A hit? lulz... E-5 Tough call but that play was anything but routine.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Trading a closer with a 3.5 ERA and at least 10 blown saves wouldnt fetch what you want for him. In the same breath he's second in AL in saves. That's what his brochure says.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Blow the game Osuna so you don't kill the rest of the pen with overwork. You know Ramirez will throw 2 innings again.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 He's still young and controllable, you'll get a solid player in return. You wouldn't get offered a better player than you would bringing him back and flipping him at the deadline. He's better than his numbers on the surface is all im saying
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 In the same breath he's second in AL in saves. That's what his brochure says. He's also 8th in xFIP and 4th in WAR among qualifying relievers. Someone would pay a boatload for him.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 That 0-1 cutter to Devers was filthy
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 ERAZZZ... FIP- 1.86, xFIP- 2.69
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 If you look at his splits he hasn't been that bad in August. Strikeout rate is down but he's also not walking guys or giving up the longball.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Hard hit% is way up though.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 He's also 8th in xFIP and 4th in WAR among qualifying relievers. Someone would pay a boatload for him. Bingo... Jays won't move him though, well, unless it's a boatload. Years of control, and cheap too.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 C'mon Koehler... Blow it! Muahahaha...
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Hard hit% is way up though. is that relevant though over a small sample size? Seems odd that his K % is up significantly but guys are barreling up the ball harder
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Trade Osuna and put Ramirez at closer. In that scenario, are the Jays really that much worse? Osuna putting up another 3 war is asking a lot, and relievers flame out just as quickly as they shine most of the time. Drop in velocity, already had a tjs, good fip...I say move him. Teams are smarter nowadays, they might look at the secondary numbers over the ERA/BS and still give up value. Sell high on somebody for once.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 You wouldn't get offered a better player than you would bringing him back and flipping him at the deadline. He's better than his numbers on the surface is all im saying Flipping him at the deadline next year just adds risk of injury prior and narrowing down the trading field. You trade him in the winter.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 Pillar with a good bunt?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 Wow, perfect toss!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Bautista is so f***ing slow now. The throw was perfect, all the credit to him, but man that wasn't even close.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Nice throw but Bautista is slow as f***.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 That is such a thing of beauty. One of my favourite plays in baseball.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 too bad gruber wasn't running
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Wonder if they thought about PR for him. Although with that throw likely didn't matter if it was Zeke.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 too bad gruber wasn't running Got that right
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 JBJ is good at baseball. also Bautista might beat Morales and Smoak in 40 but it would be close.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 This game looks like it's over
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Camt wait for this team get rid of old and slow guys
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 In the same breath he's second in AL in saves. That's what his brochure says. Sucks how often we are having this Osuna conversation and mostly after a tough outing.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 That throw home by JBJ was ludicrously good.
