Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Wow, that was WAY outside.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Before the game started, Arash said no timetable for his return, must be something bad in the family. He's from Texas, isn't he? Could definitely be something bad from the flooding.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Complete ******** showup ump call. Ump egos must die.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 What an absoltue garbage call on jose.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Guys, we need to somehow set up Pat Tabler so that Rogers fires him. I don't know if I can handle another season of this. What's your all time thing you hate most about Pat Tabler? Mine has to be the fact that when Buck tells a funny joke, Pat goes on to explain the joke or act completely oblivious to the fact that it was a joke, killing it immediately. I love when Buck says something and then Pat just repeats the exact phrase while adding a whole bunch of meaningless cliches.

The only thing I really don't like is when they rail on advanced stats, while clearly not understanding them. Otherwise, I'd take them any day over some of the announcers on other teams. Some of them will talk about other stuff for entire innings while completely ignoring the game.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Back off, Tabby is a legend.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 He's from Texas, isn't he? Could definitely be something bad from the flooding. Good point.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 Holy crap... Tepera just hit 98 MPH!
Ray Verified Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Smoak's terrific season continues. #37. He could very well end up being the AL Home Run leader with how much Judge has cooled off.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Smoak's terrific season continues. #37. He could very well end up being the AL Home Run leader with how much Judge has cooled off. Maybe. Gallo might have something to say about it too though.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 don't completely mind it..... helps with the tank Sure, but damn this season has been long and agonizing as it is. At least Urena and Teoscar don't have the 2017 stench on them, and are actually below 25 years old unlike practically anyone else on the team.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Maybe. Gallo might have something to say about it too though. Joey Gallo has 37 homers and 24 singles. I kind of love how extreme he is.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Joey Gallo has 37 homers and 24 singles. I kind of love how extreme he is. I wonder how many other guys have had both more home runs AND more walks than singles in a season? Bonds did it in 2001.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I wonder how many other guys have had both more home runs AND more walks than singles in a season? Bonds did it in 2001. I saw it somewhere else that they were tracking Gallo on his quest to do so, that's what drew my attention to it. I think McGwire did it twice and of course Bonds did it. There may have been one other guy but that's it as far as I'm aware. Edit: McGwire did it way more than twice actually

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Been a few. Sosa, Bonds, McGwire Sosa didn't. McGwire did a few times.

I remember people used to complain about Jamie Campbell, and I thought that was silly. I said who cares, I don't even notice who's calling the game. I didn't like seeing guys get bashed for calling the game they love. But with Tabler, as boring as he sounds, you can't drowned him out. He just says the most ridiculous and irrelevant things, it's unbearable. And I've only watched a fraction of games this year. Couldn't imagine watching even half with him.

Rodriguez is 1-1 with a 4.23 ERA in eight starts at Fenway this season. He is 1-3 with a 6.15 ERA in his career vs. Toronto. Marco Estrada, RHP... By Quinn Roberts / MLB.com Nothing has been easy for Red Sox left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez since he came off the disabled list on July 17 after dealing with an injured left knee -- in nine starts he's 0-3 with a 5.47 ERA. He'll try to get that elusive win on Tuesday at Fenway Park against the Blue Jays and right-hander Marco Estrada. Rodriguez has lost his last two starts, falling to 4-5 overall with a 4.40 ERA. On Thursday against the Yankees, he allowed five runs on 10 hits in five innings. With the Red Sox holding a 2 1/2-game lead over the Yankees in the American League East, manager John Farrell believes that the key to staying atop the division is consistent starting pitching. "We know the importance of these games as we get deeper into the season. What we've witnessed and lived is that our guys have been able to separate from poor series and games," Farrell said. "The inconsistencies, I don't think, are a matter of guys pressing or trying to do more. Sometimes we haven't pitched as well to keep a game in check and help our offense get on track. To me that has probably been the biggest key of all." Although Estrada didn't have his best stuff on Thursday against the Orioles, he picked up his seventh victory of the season. He allowed at least one run during each of the first three innings, and was charged with six runs on 10 hits over five innings. Estrada has three wins in his last five outings after previously going two months between victories. • After getting the day off on Monday, expect Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia back in the lineup on Tuesday. The club will continue to gradually build him up as he works his way back from inflammation in his left knee. • In seven career appearances (six starts) against Toronto, Rodriguez is 1-3 with a 6.15 ERA. He faced the Blue Jays in his first start off the DL on July 17, going 5 1/3 innings and allowing three runs on six hits in a no-decision. • Jose Bautista's 42 career home runs against the Red Sox are the most among active players. His 101 RBIs are third most among active players, behind only Evan Longoria (102) and Robinson Cano (116). Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 So they aren't calling up Alford again. Well that's disappointing.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 So they aren't calling up Alford again. Well that's disappointing. That DL stint that ate some some service clock is probably the reason if that's the case. Either that or no playing time. Maybe both. Is it official that he's not coming up?

Maybe both. Is it official that he's not coming up? I am just assuming because the AAA season ended yesterday afternoon and a lot of the players have already headed home. If he was coming you would think he would have went straight to Boston.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 Very tight zone tonight... wonder how many runs that'll lead to.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 That was Teoscar's first ribeye steak as a Jay. Cool.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 Urena gets robbed, call the cops bro!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 That's a tough error on Boogers, didn't Bats break to 3rd when he threw it?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 The ump must want to get out of Boston with his head still attached. What a horrible call.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 Thanks blue... Maille walked 2 times in that AB. *smh*
