any chance the Jays just release Morales if they can't trade him this winter? Dude seriously has no value aside from his bat which is probably league average at best now that he's in his mid 30's and drilling everything into the ground. Just end the misery instead of trying to get value out of a mistake.

You glass half-empty mother f***ers are just so upset over Morales because Smoak worked out well.

 

If Smoak was a bench warmer riding a .600 OPS like you all were predicting (not me I knew he'd be gold) and Pearce was the every day 1B you people would be all like "well at least we have Morales".

 

Morales is only useless because Smoak has been so good and the win on Smoak's contract is far bigger than the loss taken on Morales.
