Stick a fork in 'em boys. This season is over.

 

On the bright side we actually have some interesting September callups for the first time in what feels like forever.

 

Unfortunately, it basically was at the 15 game mark. The boys fought hard against the odds, but this was somewhat inevitable unfortunately.

 

Man I remember trying to explain the merits of adding Morales, Pearce, etc. this offseason and how these smart moves would help offset the loss of EE, Cecil, etc. I remember thinking there was a good chance JB would come back with a chip on his shoulder and tear the league a new one. There was also information to suggest Tulo was unlucky last year and his wRC+ should have been closer to 120, which gave me hope.

 

Holy s*** did that ever all blow up quickly. Now I have to go Page 2 of the Fangraphs page to even see how s***** Morales and Goins are. f*** sakes. Shatkins has some serious work to do.

Yeah we started off 6-17 and have basically played good enough baseball (despite the onslaught of injuries) to get the 2nd WC since. Just dug ourselves too big of a hole.
