Effit Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Astros have predictably crept back into it.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Why am I not surprised that this garbage-ass team is starting to win again leading up to the trade deadline?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Blue Jays Win!!!!!!!! Osuna Matata!!!!!!!!!!!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Osuna works a third straight day good thing he only threw 9 pitches.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Why am I not surprised that this garbage-ass team is starting to win again leading up to the trade deadline? Shapiro on pts made it sound like he has no intention of selling anyway (selling the good players, at least). Team will win about 80 games this year and then try again next year. The Rogers way.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Battle of two pitchers coming off the DL tomorrow
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 every gm says this, right up to the minute before the trades Yeah can't take anything he says at face value but I don't expect Rogers to rebuild. Way too much money to be made selling hope in 2018.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Hasn't Shatkins been rebuilding since they got here? Not by the traditional use of the term, no.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 TIL Carlos Correa is a twat. f*** him.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 So sensitive, I rewatched it and Osuna was waiting for Smoak to get to first. And he didn't lob the ball underhanded. http://m.mlb.com/video/v1582402083/houtor-osuna-gets-correa-to-ground-out-earns-save/?game_pk=491383

TBJ12 Verified Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Not by the traditional use of the term, no. The Jays aren't the Astros, Rays or Brewers. I'd like to believe teams with money can rebuild while remaining competitive.

Wel ideally yes but this is the second consecutive season we don't have impact prospects just sitting in AAA or AA waiting for an opurtunity. Some of those pitchers in AA may come up. But they have been so inconsistent. Plus our roster is so old. We are forced to wait for the next wave of prospects to roll in from the low minors. You trade veteran players to add to a talented prospects pool and you can hope they can develop and come up together. And hopefully some of those prospects you acquire are closer to the big leagues ready to contribute. Rebuilding on the fly only works if you have a great farm system stocked up at every level. So you can pipe in players constantly. If someone gets hurt for us we are forced to use an organizational type or a castaway veteran. A team like the Yankees have been able to plug in young players with tremendous upside. If it wasn't for injuries they could have even more young talent on that roster.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Umm so many stupid things: - Osuna didn't underhand it and lob it, what kind of narrative is this guy trying to push and make up? - who cares if he lobbed it? Pitchers do it all the time to save their arm -Osuna was not waiting Correa out, he was waiting for Smoak on the shift Correa, you're a talent, but dumb.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 TIL Carlos Correa is a twat. f*** him. Glad I traded this cancer. What has he done? Won a ROY that he didn't deserve? Whoopdy do
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 WTF is Correa going on about He's getting slammed on sports talk radio
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 FFS he was sauntering down the baseline And Osuna had to wait for Smoak
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 FFS he was sauntering down the baseline And Osuna had to wait for Smoak How long after the game did Correa make those comments? It's a dumb thing to say, but it would be even more dumb if he actually saw the replay and still thought he had a reason to get his knickers in a knot.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Puerto Ricans and Mexicans don't like each other very much.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 If you look at replay Correa was busier looking at Osuna that looking to see Smoak having to run towards first base. Jesus Christ, quit acting like a whiny ****.
