This year we are really seing the result of trading away hoffman for tulo. Tulo is playing like he wants retire while Hoffman looks amazing. OUCH

I'd like to believe that if we are complaining about Zeke & Gibby then this team should be leading the division because we don't have anything else to complain about.

 

78 games in and Tulo & Morales are replacement level players. No manager can fix that and while Gibby is just doing desperate things it's simply not his fault where we sit. I don't disagree with you, he's made a lot of illogical decisions, especially of late and probably out of desperation but he can't just grab a PS4 controller and start hitting the ball for them.

 

Yes and somewhat prophetically, the Jays who had the most runners LOB in this game were Morales (4) and Tulowitzki (5). Everyone focuses on who should be hitting 1-4 in the batting order, BUT if you have stiffs in those 5 and 6 holes, it really does lead to the kind of ineptitude we have been seeing too much of lately.

 

Only way to initiate change is to force it. Jays need to start losing April style and maybe this lifeless roster will get a makeover.

 

I think the key question is what type of makeover will happen. My guess is that for business reasons, the Jays will attempt to do a 'quick retool'. With some luck they could again be a wild card contender in 2018.

Yeah BUT Boston went 6 for 23 with RISP (.261) versus Toronto's 2 for 7 (.286). When you consider how many base runners that Boston squandered, the Jays were actually lucky to make it to the 11th inning.

 

Overall, I again see the problem that the Jays' offense put up a crooked number, then went comatose. In this case only 1 run in 10 innings after the 1st inning outburst.

The FO has done a pretty good job, do you expect them to work miracles in the 1.5 seasons they have been here? This team is old, it was inevitable they would go down this path eventually.

We had a good run, back to back ALCS appearances, a couple of classic ALDS were we kicked the s*** out of the rangers, spanking their two top aces at their own park. The batflip, the walk off, the Donaldson dash, the three or four unforgettable home playoff games (15 ALDS gm5, 15 ALCS gm5, 16 WC gm, 16 ALDS gm3), all in the space of 12 months.

A bunch of us in here have season tickets and have spent a shitload of money. Its tough for any team to continually win in any sport, let alone baseball, where only 1/3 of the teams see the post season.

The future should be bright for this franchise and I have faith in the FO.
