They're served up as a minus to start, I agree defensive metrics are not correct. Worst in ball.

 

You're both wrong, defensive stats historically have Votto as a very good defender at first. He had an outlier last season, those unfortunately happen, but is now back to being well above average.

I think his BABIP was up there. This season .297 BABIP and sub 20% K-rate, he's legit doing really well.
