I'm not sure Pearce is the answer either, he's been worse than Carrera this season and is better at 1B anyway.

 

Well... Pearce had a -1 wRC+ in April and was a 181 wRC+ in May (30PA) before getting injured. He was turning it around just like a lot of Jays were at the time and considering his history of success it's hard think April was anything other than a slow start. Carrera on the other hand... Correct, but the umpire didn't make a bad call imo. It looked a lot like what Reyes used to do, except he actually dropped it where I don't think Reyes ever did. He basically caught it and tried a stupidly quick transfer that is essentially still part of the catch.

Yeah with Smoak holding down 1B, when Pearce is back from injury Pearce should get a chance at LF to show why we were excited about his signing.

 

He messed up his first chance at 1B, let's hope he does better this time.
