Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I love how Jay f***ing Bruce is shoving this boards negativity towards him right down our throats right now. Maybe Shatkins actually knew something we didn't about this guy (and his new approach at the plate). Then again - maybe it's early and he's still horrible...but he'd look amazing in LF right now.

Jay Bruce is known for having incredible hot streaks followed by 2 months of abysmal play. This is nothing new.

If your Jay Bruce boner lasts longer than 4 hours consult a doctor. 2 weeks is nothing. The guy was replacement level the past 3 seasons.

SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I rooted for Cooper. I thought he could be an Olerud-type kinda guy with a high average, good BB/K ratio in the minors and acceptable power. I did, too! That's exactly what I thought he was like. I thought if he had time to mature in the bigs he could have been something. He's entirely out of baseball now, but I Googled him from time to time after he left the Jays org to see what he was up to.

Melvin Verified Member Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Can't wait for Cat Latos to fight someone in the dugout Hopefully he fights everyone and it does the trick to wake these losers up. Then he gets DFA'd and never seen from again.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Why not Bolsinger? Why isn't he starting in AAA?
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Why not Bolsinger? Why isn't he starting in AAA? Being used as a reliever, only pitched 4 innings so far and wasn't great on Sunday.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Being used as a reliever, only pitched 4 innings so far and wasn't great on Sunday. He's pitching fine down there. I'm just curious as to why they aren't using him as a starting pitcher.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Is Mat Latos' wife included in the call-up? She better be. If not I think we should of went with TJ House.

Boston had the Curse of the Bambino and Chicago had the Curse of the Billy Goat. Get ready for many lean years ahead. Truthbomb #2: Before I come across as too fatalist, the 1989 team started something like 12-24 and ended up winning the division beating Baltimore the final week of the season. Of course they fired Jimy Williams and promoted Cito Gaston. I don't see them canning Gibby though.
