  1. The 1989 AL East Champion Toronto Blue Jays: "After the first month of the season, the Blue Jays had 10 wins and 20 losses and sat 6.5 games behind the Baltimore Orioles in the standings...The Blue Jays had never fired a manager in the middle of the season. After the Jays were swept by the Minnesota Twins in a three-game series, including a 13-1 loss in the final game of the series, the Jays had 12 wins and 24 losses.[8] The Jays had also lost 15 of their last 19 games. Gillick decided that a change was needed. On Monday, May 15, Jimy Williams had become the first Jays manager to be fired in mid-season.[9] Williams would be replaced by Cito Gaston, the first black manager in the history of the franchise...It resulted in the Blue Jays finishing first in the American League East with a record of 89 wins and 73 losses." THERE...IS...HOPE...
  2. So why did they wait until the last minute to sign Trumbo and lowball him? Duquette is full of s***.
  3. He made arguably the worst trade in franchise history. Dickey was inconsequential to our two post season runs, so had he not made that trade and you insert Thor into our already killer rotation, then there's your World Series team.
  4. Truthbomb 3: When Sanchez, Happ and Donaldson return, the team will spin it as an immediate upgrade, as if they had made trades when in fact they will be no better than on day 1.
  5. Just be happy I didn't create my own thread.
  6. Gibby sitting Tulo our top RBI guy??? This game is being broadcast nationally across the USA and you field your spring training B team when you need to build a winning momentum? No words.
  7. Truthbomb #1: We are witnessing the beginning of the Curse of the Parrot. Boston had the Curse of the Bambino and Chicago had the Curse of the Billy Goat. Get ready for many lean years ahead. Truthbomb #2: Before I come across as too fatalist, the 1989 team started something like 12-24 and ended up winning the division beating Baltimore the final week of the season. Of course they fired Jimy Williams and promoted Cito Gaston. I don't see them canning Gibby though.
