FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Yelich for Bo +++ Bichette? Not a chance. Toronto should have 2 untouchable prospects prior to a full season in the bigs, Vlad and Bo.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Yelich for Bo +++ Jays aren't giving up Bo. But I can see them trading Alford and Zeuch, and another piece while taking on some contracts that's Marlins want to move like Prado and Chen to facilitate that move.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Yelich for Bo +++ Bo, Alford, Zuech for Yelich and Zeigler would just be peachy.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Yeah I don't think Shatkins trades Bo, and I don't expect the Marlins to be content with a package centered around Alford, though who the hell knows what the Marlins are doing. If the Jays agree to take Prado and/or Chen, then maybe they can get Yelich for less.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I would include Bo in a trade that brought back Realmuto and Yelich + salary. Would add some solid long term pieces on the roster this year while keeping the prized jewel in the organization.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Bo, Alford, Zuech for Yelich and Zeigler would just be peachy. Ewww... Yelich and Realmuto, lol.

I'd say Vlad is the only prospect who should be unavailable in a deal for a player of Yelich's value. I wouldn't want to see us move Bo for any sort of short term option but for Yelich it's a no brainer.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I don't really doubt those allegations. The fact that two teammates(1 former, 1 current) have publicly apologized to her makes think they aren't surprised by the behaviour. I don't think he deserves a suspension, but if he gets one...oh well. I grew up loving hearing the stories of athletes and womanizing. I got to witness it as my friend was a ball boy who was instructed every game to give notes from Jesse Barfield to young girls in the crowd (with instructions of where to meet him). I loved that story...even laughed it off when one of the girls from my high school (16 at the time) said that he sent her a note. Now I just wonder how many others were underage. In the end what's the worst that happens about all this? Athletes, politicians and actors are forced to actually show some restraint.

Women throwing themselves at them is enough, but they have to draw a line... Seriously, with some of these guys it's ridiculous, use your f***ing brains boys, you have it all, regardless.

The worst that happens is that people get their lives ruined over exaggerated stories.

GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Public opinion doesn't care about proof. But the Justice system does. Many of these people need to start bringing this s*** to court to let the facts come out and deal with the legal consequences one way or another. It would be a f***ed up world if anyone could accuse you of anything at all and you are punished for it without any sort of investigation of facts.

SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 If the Jays want Yelich and Realmuto, and were willing to eat all their bad contracts (Ziegler, Tazawa and Prado), who would we have to send to make that deal work? Prado and Ziegler could bounce back some and provide a little WAR. Not sure about Tazawa. Thoughts? I would trade Bichette and Alford+ I couldn't give two f***s if the FO cut any/all Prado, Ziegler and Tazawa. It's just money. Realmotu and Yelich could be lynchpins for quite a while. And while my thoughts are on this, JD for two prospects and one starter. Prado could actually cover 3B if we don't get one in return. But if we got, say Gyorko and Grichuk... Realmotu, Yelich, Gyorko and Grichuk for JD and Bichette+. Would you?

For the social justice mobs the accusations are enough that even if you win in court, your life and reputation are ruined.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I see two parallel topics here that have one easy solution if applied to each other. Hire 50 women to throw false accusations at Yelich (numbers trump proof, they ALL can't be lying, right?) and reduce his trade value to zero. Offer a bag of balls to Miami and once he's on the team the accusations get proven false.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 So what happens if a player accuses Manfred of sexually harassing them to prove a point. Even if there's no evidence should he suspend himself because the "victim" never lies?

Even if there's no evidence should he suspend himself because the "victim" never lies? That could be pretty costly for the player. This whole thing is just business, not MLB going SJW. There are a significant number of female fans, BJMB notwithstanding.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 What an awful offseason for Colorado When you can give Aroldis Chapman money to a guy who's half as good and entering the decline phase of his career with known arm problems you do that and ask questions later. This also seems to be the Rockies' motto for every free agent signing of theirs.

They've committed 106M to Davis, Shaw, and McGee over the next three seasons. 35M a year to three relievers who aren't even elite. What a terrible org.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Wow the Rockies are dumb as s***.
