Article about free agents to avoid. Notable - Eduardo Nunez makes the list, a player that many people see as a fit for the Jays. But on the wrong side of 30, if Nunez has any kind of dropoff in speed or contact, he could easily become a replacement level sinkhole of a contract, like we previously saw with Maicer Izturis.

 

Hard to be super scared of signing a guy for 2-ish years at low dollars. He isn't projected to cost a ton.

Fits for the Jays because he can play all over the diamond, especially at SS and 2B with our injury concerns.

 

He could bust (as could any low end FA), but I'd still be interested in him.

I'm interested to see how the market develops. If it ends up being in the 2/20 range, I'm cool with that, but with his whole "versatility" aspect, he's a fit on a lot of teams, so we could see the bidding raise his price a bit. If it gets to a 3 or even 4 year deal in the 30+mil range, then that's a hard no.

 

Also, I definitely wouldn't consider him an option at SS - he's been a butcher there his whole career, with UZR/150 of -18.3. 2B/3B/corner OF would definitely be handy though.

I don't know, but I made that suggestion before too. He'd be a good fit imo.

Would definitely bring him back to cover corner OF, 3B and 2B. Could be a good piece if he's healthy.

The offseason just started lmao, we're like 3 weeks into it. The Winter Meetings are like 3 weeks away still, you need to relax otherwise Opening Day is gonna seem to never come.
