G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 What a s*** season for the Tigers
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 s*** The backup catcher missed a pitch from Farmer and the home plate ump took it right in the shoulder/neck
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Bases loaded Fans all over Farmer, and Miggy becuse he was gesturing at the Cleveland fans
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Line out to end the inning Indians up 4-1 going into the 4th
Guest Guests Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Interesting to see that Deck McGuire made his MLB debut last night for the Reds after a pretty solid season in Double A ball at Pensacola in the Southern League. Not a bad line: 1.2 IP, 1 hit, 1 K, no runs, 6 batters faced.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 It may come down to the combo of which team has the most bonus pool money to give him, and which guarantee him the chance to bat as well. Red Sox have the most spending money with the yankees right behind them. I think either team would be fine letting him bat and would be able to give him the biggest deal if he succeeds. How is it both the Yankees and Red Sox are always at the top of the list.

They both traded for extra international bonus money for this year.
Ray Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Top of the 9th. Indians lead 5-3. Cody Allen to close. Let's see if the Indians can tie the modern era major league record.
Ray Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Wow. 21 straight wins. Tie the modern era MLB record. Have a chance to break it tomorrow. Unbelievable.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Bruce could probably hit 35-40 HR's playing half his games at the Rogers Centre and would add some nice balance to this lineup from the left side. He's a very streaky hitter though. He'll have his hot streaks, though his cold streaks could be downright ugly. Defensively he is a liability, though I could live with him in left field I suppose if he hits for power. Can't be any worse than Carrera/Pearce defensively. He probably won't cost that much this offseason if last season was any indicator for power hitters. I wouldn't have a problem if the Jays signed Bruce this offseason.

I read somewhere that his poor defensive metrics were the result of bad positioning. The Mets and Indians corrected where he positioned himself and his defensive metrics have improved.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Unbelievable stretch for the Indians Would love to see them win 22
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 It's comforting to know that the best team in the league was primarily assembled by our current front office.

The modern era record was the 2002 A's with 20 wins, the actual (no ties) record is the one the Indians just tied, which is the 1935 Cubs.

Yes it is They're also hard to dislike even though they beat us last year Rangers and Royals were so much more detestable it seems Indians are a pretty damn exciting and likeable team and they're actually really good and well constructed. Ray Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Indians are a pretty likeable team. I didn't mind losing to them in the ALCS last season. They beat us pretty fair and square with good pitching. The KC ALCS on the other hand drove me crazy. They were getting bloop base hits and lucky like no tomorrow.

They also stole signs against Price, had a homerun given when fan interference was called and that brutal strike-2 call against Revere.

BTS Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Not quite the start I was hoping to see. Doesn't help that he struck Walker out on that walk. Brutal call.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I hope nobody streamed Chad Bettis in their playoff matches today.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 David Price activated Farrell says he will pitch out of the bullpen for the rest of the regular season
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Andrew Miller also activated
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Could the Phillies finally be decent again next year? C - Rupp, Knapp, and Alfaro - should be able to piece something palatable together from these three. Knapp is a sleeper prospect and Alfaro has upside. 1B - Rhys Hoskins - total stud, apparently 2B - Cesar Hernandez - comfortably above average player SS - Freddy Galvis - surprisingly average regular 3B - Maikel Franco - awful 2017 but he held his own before as a 22 and 23 year old; Mike Moustakas upside INF - Scott Kingery - one of baseball's most compelling fringe prospects INF - JP Crawford - probably more likely to start than Franco, could even steal SS job, very high upside, might have figured it out late this year. CF - Odubel Herrera - solid above average regular RF - Nick Williams - obvious bust candidate but he's doing fine so far LF - Aaron Altherr - really stupid name but he might be an average regular OF - Roman Quinn and Dylan Cozens in AAA SP - Nola, Velasquez, Eickhoff, Pivetta, Lively, Leiter Jr., Thompson... Eshelman, Appel, Kilome. - I recognize these names! BP - league average this year. They have some guys.
Johnny King Vancouver Canadians - A+ LHP The 19-year-old top prospect has made 16 High-A starts. He is 3-2 with a 2.92 ERA. In 61 2/3 innings, he's walked 35, but he's struck out 83 batters. Explore Johnny King News >
