G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Chance they try to trade him in the offseason as his salary jumps up $10.5m. He's got a full no trade clause though. I thought the Marlins didn't give those
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I didn't even know anyone had picked him up He's with the Twins.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I thought the Marlins didn't give those Not normally but as hard as it is to believe, Stanton was apparently reluctant to sign the contract so they gave him everything he wanted.

If the Marlins go full rebuild he's willing to waive it. It would be nice to see him in a hitters park
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Felix do the DL with bicep tendinitis. It's sad watching him fall apart.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 He's a cut candidate at this rate.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Tulowitzki for Hernandez. Everybody's problems are solved.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Tulowitzki for Hernandez. Everybody's problems are solved. Well...Seattle has a pretty good SS so I'm not sure how that would help them.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Tulowitzki for Hernandez. Everybody's problems are solved. They have Cano, Segura, and Seager as their infield. They don't need Tulo.
admin Site Manager Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Stanton 477 foot HR. 115 mph exit velocity off a 78 mph RA Dickey knuckleball no less http://m.mlb.com/news/article/246477322/giancarlo-stanton-homers-at-suntrust-park/ Reminded me that I do not miss Dickey one bit. What a terrible trade that was.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Reminded me that I do not miss Dickey one bit. What a terrible trade that was. It was... but he's having a nice season thus far with the Braves, his RA9-WAR sitting at 1.7 thus far.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Baltimore Lol Nah... a couple other teams in the East might be in play.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 They have Cano, Segura, and Seager as their infield. They don't need Tulo. We'll throw in Goins for Segura then just to make it more even and that will solve Seattle's problem of riding Tulo's expensive ass on the bench.

RA Dickey right now is what this rotation could have used. Would rather have him than Valdez and the other crap they rolled out with in April/May like with Lawrence/Bolsinger etc.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Nah... a couple other teams in the East might be in play. Yeah I was kidding obviously Baltimore doesn't have the money or farm to trade for Stanton If the Yankees can't get Harper though...

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Brandon Morrow having a great year out of bullpen 1.12 FIP. Could be a beast next season if stays healthy. Big IF. Picked him up for free in BORED. A 2018 keeper.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 AA's best move since he went to LA How do you know AA was the one who suggested him? The Dodgers front office is incredibly smart.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Eric Thames is running a 96 wRC+ with a 32% k-rate since the end of April. Pretty much exactly the player who left here years ago.

Pretty much exactly the player who left here years ago. TBF he had a horrendous June which distorts his figures - you can't really include that month to look at his overall performance if you're going to exclude March and April. He's at 126 wRC+ and 1.6 WAR overall. Not a superstar but well worth his contract.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Alonso traded to Mariners. The M's front office be like: "limited defensive player, first base type?" http://i0.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/019/580/anotheronelol.jpg
