Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 I disagree on Schmidt, and certainly A-Rod for reasons Org mentions(he should've stayed at SS, with the Yankees). If Arenado and Machado stay healthy with long careers they might join the conversation. Mike Schmidt was a machine man, 3 MVPs, 10 Gold Gloves and 6 Silver Sluggers. He had over 100 WAR, Beltre certainly lags behind him. Arenado is good but he's highly overrated due to the Coors effect, his best season isn't even close to Machado's top 3 best.

Like I said mate, arguably. I loved watching Schmidt through my bunter and tweener years, great ballplayer. Baseball has certainly evolved since then, and why I have him(Beltre) and Robinson as a virtual tie. It's certainly a great topic.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 500 HR milestone next up for Beltre?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 500 HR milestone next up for Beltre? What's he at? Yeah, it's possible.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Lind's a beast, he rarely plays and continues to mash.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 It's not a great topic. Schmidt was better. I don't care what you think, TBH. Next you'll tell me Carter was better then Bautista.
wamco Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Ooook. Only you think beltre is better than Schmidt for some moronic reason.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Ooook. Only you think beltre is better than Schmidt for some moronic reason. Yes as an all around ballplayer, absolutely.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Ooook. Only you think beltre is better than Schmidt for some moronic reason. You know Carter sucked, right?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Hmmm... he should be great there, but he's fallen off the map.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Hmmm... he should be great there, but he's fallen off the map. Yeah He seemed like such a big pickup for Texas last year but...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) Yeah He seemed like such a big pickup for Texas last year but... Could work fine... what did the Rockies give up? Edit: A PTBNL??? Edited July 31, 2017 by Spanky99
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 All the more likely that Darvish gets dealt now too Damn if we were closer in the standings but missing Sanchez I'd want in on that
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 All the more likely that Darvish gets dealt now too Damn if we were closer in the standings but missing Sanchez I'd want in on that Meh... he'd cost a lot. Wait for the off-season.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Meh... he'd cost a lot. Wait for the off-season. Wonder what he'll get as a free agent this off season No draft pick compensation if he gets traded too
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Wonder what he'll get as a free agent this off season No draft pick compensation if he gets traded too Draft comp is a 3rd and 5th... not a deterrent. It's why they rather move him.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 The Dodgers are buckets of fun to watch right now. Great team.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 The Dodgers are buckets of fun to watch right now. Great team. I can't see them losing in the post-season.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 How did the Giants keep that ball in the infield? Fantastic effort.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 God damn I love Brandon Morrow. His stuff is as filthy as ever. Holy f*** 101!
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 His stuff is as filthy as ever. Holy f*** 101! That was impressive. Dude is looking like a monster out of the pen.
HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I didn't realize how good the Dodgers record was until I checked the NL standings. 73-31, .702, that's incredible!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 That was impressive. Dude is looking like a monster out of the pen. 4.15 FIP, 5.93 xFIP from this outing. It wasn't his most impressive by any stretch.
