Kyle Kendrick's start is brought to you by the letters D, F and A--which is where he's headed after this start after Machado just hit a 3-run HR.

trade rumors alert - Red Sox getting Quintana/Frazier?

Fake. Nobody in Boston media has said that.. plus Boston has no chips to offer without destroying the big league roster, as the White Sox would demand Benintendi and/or Devers in any deal..

Would be shocked to see Quintana traded anywhere this early.

Todd Frazier I can see. 3B is a black hole for the Red Sox. Sandoval sucks and is injured all the time, and Rutledge can't hit his way out of a paper bag. And who knows how long Holt is out for with his concussion.

Don't they have an amzing one in the minors? How far away is he?

Rafael Devers. And hes raking AA right now as a 20 year old. It wouldnt be very shocking to see him up after the mystical moving Super 2 line, but I really don't think they'll be that agressive. His 78 PA at AA this year are his first taste above Advanced A.

It probably would make more sense to grab a cheap, really good defender and not worry too much about the offense until they feel Devers is ready

They are tied with Jays (both 28 games played) for 26th in runs scored. They could use a boost of offense from 3B.

Between Brock Holt, Paplo Sandova and Marco Hernandez, they have plenty of internal options. It just so happens that by some weird fluke, all three are injured at the same time but they still have a couple of depth guys in Rutledge and D'Arnaud that they can roll with for now. It's not a desperate situation. Doesn't really make sense to go for Frazier unless they are using Devers as a trade chip.

I find myself strangely cheering for the Orioles

Hopefully this doesn't last

Not cheering for them...but I do think they're getting the shaft in this whole Boston/Baltimore thing.

Cards facing losses of both Stephen Piscotty and Dexter Fowler--Fowler's injury is apparently quite bad:

This Bryant kid might be okay. Got to say that the Cubs and Yankees might be one of the most fun series to watch this year.

FG needs to be a bit more judicious in deciding what to publish. This article is stupid.

This is what happens when you force your writers to fill a quota of articles per day. You get an article about Seth Smith fluking his way to 4 singles off a terrible pitcher, and then you include Mike Trout in the title because clickbait is annoyingly effective.

Fangraphs is generally unreadable in the first couple of months of the season because since they have to publish a minimum of 2-3 articles per day, it's small sample size galore. Tyler White and Ezequiel Carrera are the typical early-season or hot 2-week stint type of articles that are published on a weekly basis.

All of this is completely on point. That Carrera article last year was so embarrassing for them, and this s***** article is the same kind of fluff quota-filling garbage that makes them look really unprofessional.
