jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Sabathia is carving up a putrid Rays offense.. I mean, look at the lineup! Rickie Weeks batting cleanup? Tim Beckham 5th? Peter Bourjos playing? It's pretty ugly..
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Joey Gallo just hit an absolute bomb. 460+ I would guess.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm still all-in on Joey Gallo, btw. He's going to be a beast this year.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Chris Carter with 3B and OF defense is pretty solid. He'll hit more than CCC. More pop and more walks. This is Chris Davis with even more raw power. Eventually pitchers will get so f***ing scared that his BB% will be elite.

And I don't know...Chris Davis' one handed swings are absurd.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Mariners are struggling to score--1 run this series, and they're already 0-2.. not an encouraging start. Either it's strong Houston pitching, or the M's lineup sucks..

Either it's strong Houston pitching, or the M's lineup sucks.. I think we all know it's the latter. The Mariners have been a disgustingly bad offensive for a decade now and nothing has changed.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Indians win. Rangers pitching has been an Achilles' heel so far.. and without Beltre, they're missing that clutch bat.. plus, they were bound for significant regression (they were basically a .500 team at best that got really lucky with 1-run wins.).. plus, the Indians are strong. Edwin 0-3, 1BB, 1K AJax and Santana were the key pieces today, along with a strong Carrasco outing.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I think we all know it's the latter. The Mariners have been a disgustingly bad offensive for a decade now and nothing has changed. Just ignore the fact that they had the second best offense in all of baseball last year *Just to clarify, this is not for your benefit as I know better than to assume you'll admit when you're wrong. I'm sure you'll employ some serious mental gymnastics here, but other posters might read this and think you actually know what you're talking about.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 There is really no wriggling out of that, wow. Even if Grant pulls his classic retreat into 1970 era statistics and sorts by runs scored, the M's were still 6th in baseball. "disgustingly bad offense" Boxy wins the day

Has that guy yelling(assuming he's hammered) "LETS GO DODGERS* driven you nuts yet, lol. Dude's in Oakland watching an Angels @ A's game just repeatedly screaming it every few minutes.

Also explain to me why that is more relevant than an analysis of last year where they had mostly the exact same roster. You're the one who said the M's have a disgusting offense. I see you're going to the "technicality" defense. Smart! E: NJH got that one, "nothing has changed" except for when it did.
