Indians will pay Boone Logan $5.5 million base in 2017 with club option worth $7 million or $1 million buyout

Like who? Zeke?

Coghlan hit .188 last year with the same amount of power as Carrera and poor defense.. and he's going to have a tough time making the Phillies with so many young OFs in the system and other competition for the bench. Why the hell is everybody thinking how great he is? Most teams weren't being fooled by his time with the Cubs last year.. not to mention he did nothing in the playoffs.

That's why he only got a minor league deal. And the chances of him making the Phillies are mixed at best, fighting off competition in Kendrick, Herrera, Altherr, Saunders, Goeddel, Nava, Quinn, Williams, Cozens.. and BTW, he's awful in the infield defensively as well.

Thats only 3.5 Mil higher than what we paid for Howell with no commitment.

Indians got Logan for 6 mil.

How stupid are the Rockies? They give Ian Desmond more money than what EE got and almost doubled what Trumbo and others got. Then they give Mike Dunn 19 million when the Boone Logan's and Howell's are getting 3 to 6 million. Basically, the Rockies pissed away 90 million on inferior players to the 72 million that the Indians spent.

Coghlan the last 2 years has been a well above average LF, and average RF. He's below average at 2B, but he'd be a backup option there, not full time. He did hit .188, but had a lot of bad luck with a .235 BABIP (career .307). He hit much better in the second half after getting out of Oakland. He was an ideal fit for us with Moss off the table. Cheap, lefty bat, good LF defender with some flexibility.

Indians just loading up. Very nice signing for them. Would have loved to have him at that price.

Based on their current salary numbers, the D'Backs stand to pay 46.7% of their payroll to Zack Greinke. He'll make $34M in 2017, and the team only has $72.8M in total commitments.

If that isn't some modern day record it has to be up there.

What is Braun's percentage of the Brewers commits? That is the only one I can see being close even...but his contract is only $20M.

Last year's opening day payroll was 63,908,300 so Braun at 19M was set to receive 29.7% of it

Padres have to have somekind of record too heading into this year.

Isn't 2/3 of their total payroll retained salaries of players that no longer play for them...

Matt Belisle to Minnesota for $2.05M. Surprising he didn't get a better deal after a strong year in 2016 in Washington..

Twins DFA Park to make room for Belisle. Seems like an awful lot to give up on considering it's just Belisle. No one else on the 40 was less valuable?

Does Park go back to Korea?

I didn't realize just how bad his season was. Just brutal for a bat only player. Steamer likes him more than the past numbers would indicate but he still wouldn't be great. Didn't they mess with Mauer just to find room for him too? At year later he's DFA'd. That's not a well run team.

He should. He's 30 and no good. I can't imagine there's any market for him on this side of the ocean.

LoMo back in Tampa for 2.5..... Does Carter not make more sense for another 1.5? There has to be something more to this Carter thing.

I'd love to pick up Park. Jays should be all over him.

Weren't you just saying yesterday that you don't want Chris Carter? He's what you get if Park exceeds expectations.

So it's basically down to Texas, Toronto of Colorado.

Texas seems like the best hope. Colorado would be awesome but I 100% believe they are committed to the idiocy of the Desmond experiment. Toronto would be awesome too but I don't feel like that's where the team wants to put money right now.

Some of those flyouts leave the park at Roger's Centre.

It seems like Texas is going to sign Napoli eventually. There's an opportunity here for Toronto to undo the Smoak mistake and replace him with a clearly-better player on the cheap. Hopefully they take it.

Also, HOW DOES LOMO KEEP GETTING JOBS?

I don't mind Park on a flier. The wrist may have f***ed with him quite a bit. Really depends how much he wants to play major league ball. He could probably get more with a definite role if he went back to Korea. I'd do a minor league deal with an invite and opt out in a second.
