I thought at least most hardcore baseball fans knew by now that most of Cobb's reputation was extremely exaggerated.

Ty Cobb was a complicated and flawed person like we all are but not nearly the monster he was portrayed as.

 

Really what Al Stump did to a dying Cobb is probably worse than anything Cobb ever did himself.

When Cobb made it to first—which he did more often than anyone else; he had three seasons in which he batted over .400—the fun had just begun.

 

Ty Cobb is 9th all time in OBP, Ted Williams is first.

He meant total times on base, you pedantic douche...and I'm assuming he doesn't count Bonds and Rose cuz....well, the BBWAA doesn't count them either.

Also seems like a pretty clever way to sell a book. There are a lot of people who claim his stories of gambling in that era, in the Dan Patch book, were questionable.

This is a case of how people dislike a guy and he becomes villainized. Kinda like what happened to Tommy Hilfiger except Hilfiger is still rich as hell

Er I know the alleged murder he confessed to that people used to always bring up when someone brings up Cobb was in self defence, but wasn't he known to have altercations with his team-mates and also once went into the stands and beat up a handicapped guy for heckling him? I don't think his negative reputation was unearned
