sixspurs Verified Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Last winter I bought my season seats (actually 2), my new Jersey with Stroman on the back and cheered all the homers the season from EE and Bautista. If you have Season seats and you own a jersey with EE or Bautista, will you wear it next season? And if not, what will you do with the jerseys?

I think most people here would tell you to just wear the jersey. It's not like EE and Bautista were never here. It's not like their iconic moments didn't happen.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 If they resign then yes. If not, that would be a clear violation of the jersey code and season tickets should be confiscated to anyone who does that.

Rogers Centre security won't be allowing fans into Jays games next season if they're wearing a Jose/EE jersey.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I still wear a Brett Lawrie jersey. Who cares?

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I have a Jose Reyes jersey that I unstitched the name from and then replaced it with REVERE in white hockey tape. Now it just says 7 with a stitched outline of REYES above. Guess I'm an Upton fan next season!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Any old jersey is fine, unless it's Arencibia, Romero or Kawasaki. Those are just extremely embarrassing.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Someday I will buy a Jersey...no actually I probably won't. Only one I've ever had was an Expos Jersey which I borrowed from a friend. Before returning it I had Grudzielanek stitched on it, knowing it was his least favourite player. I had to buy him a new one and I had my very first jersey. I'd still wear it proudly if I was 60 pounds lighter and it wasn't at Goodwill.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I wouldn't but I wouldn't wear Stroman either.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Just buy a nameless jersey and wear that.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 My Bautista jersey is the one with the 2015 postseason logos on the sleeves so hell yeah I'll keep wearing it Its fine to wear any old jays players or jays jerseys in general. Except the black ones
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I still wear a Brett Lawrie jersey. Who cares? Gross
ChrisS Verified Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Sure I'll wear it. Don't forget what those two have done for this franchise.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I own a Lawrie jersey that hasn't seen outside in like 2 years. That was an embarrassing purchase.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Why not? The team turned their back on them, not the other way around.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I certainly will. It's not Edwin's fault that we made a mistake in jumping on Morales in a flooded market. He'd probably be back by now if we had waited. Bautista's defense kind of pushed him out of our plans, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great player here. I'll be always like him.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I also have a Lawrie jersey I got for like $30 off some random Chinese website. I just wear a Jay's t-shirt and cap to the games these days. I'm not sure I'll ever buy another jersey to be honest. I think grown men look kinda weird in them. That said - I do wear my Longoria jersey to spring training (parents are in Port Charlotte where TB's resides).
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Why not? The team turned their back on them, not the other way around. Are you trying to be a troll now? Is this your new gig around here? ffs.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Are you trying to be a troll now? Is this your new gig around here? ffs. What are you even talking about? It's common sense... if a player turns their back on the team, it's probably a bad idea to wear their jersey around the season after. That's not the case, so I don't see why fans would stop wearing EE/JB jerseys.

They jumped and offered Morales a contract right away. Still turning their back on him IMO. Even Shi Davidi wrote "Given how much common ground there was [between Encarnacion and the Jays], it’s an awful, awful way to part with a franchise icon."

Or they offered EE the absolute max offer they were going to...he said no so they moved to plan B.
