Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I don't have a problem with this, depending on what the dollar value is.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 f*** off. We want Logan!!!!
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 If you ignore ERA and look at rate stats, Cecil just had one of the best seasons of his career even though it didn't feel that way at all. He could easily be the steal of the reliever market.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 f*** off. We want Logan!!!! a. Cecil is younger and better. b. There's room for both.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Cecil back for three years would cause mass depression among casuals. Let's do it.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Cecil back for three years would cause mass depression among casuals. Let's do it. I love this front office. They don't give a f*** about "winning" the off-season. Instead of swinging for the fences, they just go about the quiet business of efficiently acquiring wins. Reminds me of the widely panned Red Sox off season of 2012-2013 where they "settled" for mid-tier free agents like Victorino, Napoli and Ross and went on to win the World Series.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 What's a fair amount for both sides? $6-7m AAV?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Get this done. Tough year in some ways but still love the Cecil. His 2016 numbers overall were pretty good.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 What's a fair amount for both sides? $6-7m AAV? The number they mutually agree on would be fair to say. 5-6 ish would be nicer! Lol
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I think I'd have to read the Sportsnet comments if this happens.

Don't get me wrong - I agree.....but most said that about Loup after his 2015 season (Christ you could even suggest that about Loup after this season).
Governator Community Moderator Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 He's probably the only guy who'll consider giving the Jays a hometown discount as well.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 If he was all about the money there is no way he is signing before the big dogs go.

Loup never projected to be more than an effective loogy though so it's not like he widely under performed, his projection was fairly limited to begin with.

Absolutely At anything close to 3 years 15-20M he has very good chance to provide reasonable value, and stability for the pen

You're that guy.... You just had to take it too far. Damn you Brownie!!! Lol
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I give him six if he wears the Waldo Glasses and comes out to " Wild Thang" lol
xposbrad Verified Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Don't mind Cecil as long as the Jays get Jansen. They need another premium arm in the pen. Osuna goes to setup, Jansen closes. Or you just use 2 closers, rotate, so the jays can finish off close games.
SweetSmellingChacin Verified Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I'm guessing it will be in the 3/20 range, which I'm fine with.

BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 MLBTR predicted Cecil signing a 3 yr, $18M deal (albeit for Seattle..)
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Shatkins strategy: Sign Cecil before Chapman and Jansen deals I really like how this front office works, and I like 90% of what they've done so far
