jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 What will you be doing for the 2017 season? Buying on a game to game basis when I feel like going down to a game. Might scoop up some single game tickets during the first day of ticket sales to some of the bigger games like the Home Opener, Canada Day game, and some premium weekend games in the summer. Otherwise, for games in April/May & most weeknight games, I'll just buy tickets for less off StubHub. Also, looking to go to Chicago in August to see the Cubs series, so will be trying to buy those the first day when Cubs tickets go on sale in February.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Too many other things going on to commit. Game day decision.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Have my season tickets.

Governator Community Moderator Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Single game tickets but I never buy far in advance, I just don't commit myself without knowing our family plans first. That said, if (or when) EE/Bautista sign with a new team I'll be buying their first home game tickets back.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Buying group tickets for the Jays series in Wrigley.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Buying group tickets for the Jays series in Wrigley. Me and a couple friends are looking to fly down there for a series its just so expensive to find a hotel close to Wrigley.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Buying group tickets for the Jays series in Wrigley. What seats are you getting? I put down a deposit for 16 seats even though there is only 4-6 of us going. Figured I could sell the rest with how many other people will be going, while guaranteeing my group good seats.

They call me every year, I probably will have to pursue it myself this year.

So I'm doing Friday and Saturday. Flying in early Friday and heading straight to Wrigley. Then the Saturday I don't care what time it starts.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Where are you guys getting group tickets for the Chicago series in August? I've booked twice through them so I'm on their "list". There is a group sales deposit.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 why so? just curious. Place to be. More of a party than a place to watch the game (opens up 4 hours before the game starts with the bar open the entire time). With that said you get there for the start, save great seats in the front and the party behind you isn't a distraction. Marquee games Bleachers are $65 (last year) 3rd highest only to the box seats. Not the tickets to do if you are going with your wife and kids. But group tickets it's a blast. Plus you get to watch the indoor BP behind the ivy.

"save great seats in front" So your ticket is kind of general admission? Good to know though - because I f***ing despise people who's primary objective is to get loaded and party during a baseball game. Will avoid the bleachers like the plague.

Although if the Jays got on SNB I think it'd be pretty cool. Think we'll leave Thursday night since its risky getting there for an afternoon game the same day. Especially if you fly since O'Hare always has delays.

Bleachers are General Admission. I don't like to watch baseball with the drunks either but I like to drink when I'm away on a vacation. I might do set seats for the Friday game depending on my flight time.

I never saw the appeal in spending all that money to go on the trip and see a game at another stadium (which is likely a once in a lifetime thing), only to spend it in a drunken haze. I have friends that do this yearly for football games. They go to a major city and spend all their time either in a hotel room drinking, drunk at a football game or at a bar. All the meals are fast food. Rinse and repeat. Give me the city tours, stadium tours, dinners at unique restaurants and a couple of beers at the ball game all day long.

I've been twice since my divorce and usually spend one game drinking with the boys and one game a little more low key. It's no different than all my Vegas trips. People make the trip...and I usually don't like people when I'm sober.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Bleachers are a blast at Wrigley. Went back in 2009 for a weekend and for my first game it was against the Pirates. Sat in the second row in left field and fans were heckling Nyjer Morgan nonstop which was hilarious. No crude or offensive language which was the good thing.

NorthernJay Verified Member Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 So......do you think the bleachers will have the same ambiance, fan type of behaviour since your last visit in 2009....8 years later? The drunktards can stay at home to drink!
