Gary Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 What kind of contract are we looking at here? 3 years at $15 million per season?
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 f*** ya. Absolutely love him
Gary Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 f*** ya. Absolutely love him Me too but he always seems to be injured. Could say the same about Jose though too.
WONDERBAT Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 I wonder how much Money the orioles have?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 If Reddick is the second best player they sign I can live with it. If he's the biggest acquisition it's pretty meh.
Gary Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 EE + Reddick > EE + Bautista
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Edwin coming back, signing Reddick and getting two picks from Bautista would be a dream off season
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 EE + Reddick > EE + Bautista 100%. Although my gut is telling me we won't resign EE. My guess is Reddick + Beltran/Morales, hope I'm wrong
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Edwin coming back, signing Reddick and getting two picks from Bautista would be a dream off season 2 picks from Bautista? Wouldn't it only be 1?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 EE + Reddick > EE + Bautista Reddick + Bautista + cash> Reddick + EE
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 What kind of contract are we looking at here? 3 years at $15 million per season? If it's something like that I would be fine with it.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Do we need a new thread every time there's one of these frivolous reports?
Gary Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 Do we need a new thread every time there's one of these frivolous reports? It's the offseason. It's slow. I say yes.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Trade for a young OF or Cutchen
UWHabs Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 If we don't get Bautista back, Reddick seems like a painfully obvious choice, being a LH bat, has put up good numbers in the past, won't take a massive commitment, and is still young enough that he can be productive for the length of his deal.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Reddick + Bautista + cash> Reddick + EE Yeah a Reddick and Bautista combo might cost about the same amount of money as EE on his own.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Yeah a Reddick and Bautista combo might cost about the same amount of money as EE on his own. Lol uh no .
UWHabs Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 EE will probably come in around 20M per year. JB I expect around 20 as well, but bidding wars might put him closer to 25. Reddick should be cheaper, in the 15-17 range I'd expect. The only reason that Reddick or JB will come in "cheaper" than EE is because he'll probably get a longer deal than either of the other guys. The AAV of his deal won't be substantially more than the other guys on the market.

SweetSmellingChacin Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Lol uh no . Total contract, EE will likely get more. Lets say EE gets 4/90 (conservative total), it's unlikely the combined deals of JB and Reddick cost 90 million.

Fangraphs crowsourcing has EE @4/90, JB at 3/60, and Reddick somewhere around 50M over 3-4 years, so JB+Reddick > EE in total value, but obviously more years of control total combined.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Yeah a Reddick and Bautista combo might cost about the same amount of money as EE on his own. Also allows a little more flexibility. Say what you want about Bautista's defense but he could still play RF or LF for 20 games. EE your stuck with at 1B or DH.

I don't think JB is going to get 60 guaranteed, but I guess we will see. If he gets 2/40, JB and Reddick will likely come in under EE.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Lol uh no . I think there's a chance! If EE gets 90 million then someone will have to give Bautista a 3 year deal or Reddick a 4 year deal to eclipse 90 mil.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Do we need a new thread every time there's one of these frivolous reports? Lot better than individual signing ideas getting separate, numbered threads.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Nope, do not want this guy!!! He kinda actually Suxx's I do not want a LH bat who needs a platoon partner! For the money needed, no f***ing thanks.

For the money needed, no f***ing thanks. Having one or two platoon bats is actually kind of ideal, if you have the right guy as the platoon partner. It means (for example) that you extract extra value out of your 4th outfielder. The Dodgers did this really effectively with Ethier and Van Slyke.

Platoons are never ideal over one player who can play everyday at the position. Last 3 years of Reddick gets you this vs Lhp 202ave, 265 obp, 534ops\ Rhp 249 Ave, 305 obp, 714 ops Total 258ave, 313 obp, 734 ops for 12 - 17 mil and I need a platoon partner to play and pay to boot. Angel pagen might cost less and has a better fielding percentage in all fields career wise and is a switch hitter who has stolen 43 bases over the last 3 years. Doesn't need a platoon partner, ya dig? Last 3 years vs Lhp 275ave, 311obp, 689ops / Rhp 279ave, 330 obp, 709 ops total 278ave, 324 obp, 702ops
