Most likely he starts 2017 at AAA. But is it possible that he could make the Opening Day roster? Skipping AAA worked out with Osuna, and Travis, but failed with Pompey and Castro.

I wouldn't rule it out, but I suspect they'd prefer not to plan based on requiring that. It certainly wouldn't hurt to maybe have room at DH for being creative though.

I don't see any way he makes this team out of spring training. I'm thinking he gets a September callup. If he's up sooner than that, it means something has gone wrong (likely an injury of two).

I think the bigger problem for Castro was skipping AA as well. Tellez will probably be the first guy they call on in case of injury or poor play. It shouldn't surprise anyone to see him up in may or June if the situation arises.

Yeah even though he doesn't need to get added to the 40 man, I don't see them holding him back for economic reasons. When there is a need and/or he's swinging a solid bat he'll be up (even if it's April 1st. I know you watched some New Hampshire games this year, is the D passable?

I didn't see a lot of rangy plays out of him and I noticed that they play him close to the line (maybe a weakness to his left), but he made a lot of nice picks and he makes good decisions. I think it's safe to call him average or slightly below from what I saw. He won't embarrass himself with mistakes.

Probably will play a full season at AAA. Annoying that Atkins gave Smoak that extension because Tellez is probably already better

I don't think Smoak's contract is really that much of a deterrent to anyone else playing. It just has to be enough of an upgrade. In other words can Rowdy provide $4.5M a year in value (likely as a platoon if his early Minor League splits are an indication).

He's going to get the Pompey treatment. If he can't hit in his window we'll never see him again.

Hopefully he gets a better opportunity than Pompey did.

I think Pompey will be involved in a package deal this offseason.

Hitting is not the Pompey issue. Defense and game awareness is.

I'm going to be a buzzkill here but have any of you ever watched the video that got Roddy fired from the WWE. Man, such a brutally honest, heartbreaking and ultimately prophetic interview. The sacrifice all those wrestlers made for our entertainment is hard to swallow when you look at it in the cold hard light of day.

and this is before they realized what concussions (CTE) are doing to those that suffer from them. Every single wrestler that agreed to have their brains checked after their death has had CTE. It's amazing how quiet the CTE lawsuit against the WWE has gone.
