I suspect the Jays are waiting to find out what happens with the QO. The fact no one seems to know if he's going to decline it or not makes me think there's at least a decent chance he accepts.

I think it affects his swing too. He just looked different. He used to be able to turn quicker and sometimes he would take really violent swings. That all went away and I don't think age can catch up to you instantly.

I don't think Bautista accepts the QO, but if he does, my god move him to 1B. I won't be able to stand another season of him in right field.

If he goes for that low a cost, we had better be the ones that get him regardless of whether Bautista accepts the QO. I wouldn't be surprised to see Reddick get up to 17M per on a 4 year deal.

 

I don't think I saw anyone suggest 100M.

 

There were several posters that suggested Reddick would get around 90mil. I know BTS said it for sure

If so we only need to sign or trade for 1 OF

Carrera is coming back as the 4th outfielder, Pompey needs a good spring training to make the team IMO.

If they only sign Reddick I could literally see Gibby being Gibby and use Carerra as a starter & leadoff and platoon Reddick with Upton. Puke.

 

If they are only signing one OF to save money sign Reddick to split with Upton and trade for Puig.

I think he still has a chance of having a decent MLB career, but unfortunately probably not with the Jays.

 

His best chance at getting a run in a MLB lineup is prob in a non contending team after a trade as I don't think Gibby trusts him.

 

Short of a significant injury to Pillar, it's difficult to see Pompey being given the chance to start regularly for us.

Clearly with openings in LF and RF, if the Jays were serious about Pompey they'd hand him one of the corners, or at the very least a platoon with Upton, but it doesn't appear that that's even a consideration.

I will be surprised if a team is willing to give up their first for Bautista. If it was a second round pick and they had already given up their first than maybe

 

But hard for me to imagine that a team would give up the first round pick at a time when younger players are making impact faster and faster

At least all 3 (of Upton Pompey and Carerra) provide speed and all can play defense though Carrera less well. None of them should be hitting leadoff though and that's what Gibby will want.
