The more I think about the more I'd like to see them Saunders. Apparently he was banged up the 2nd half of the season so I think the major drop off in performance was injury related. LH bat that can be a 110-125 wRC+ and should cost less than 25 Million. If he can play some 1B/LF and DH he compliments the current team well.

Where is this info? Pertaining the 2nd half?

Even if Saunders offensive drop-off was due to an injury in the second half, he's a liability on the field. That's a good enough reason for this front office to shy away from signing him.

Getting Reddick would be really really nice. Hoping for some good news in the coming days about that.

The Condor can't hit, run or catch the ball.... He's just another Canadian player who like Hossskey and the brawls.

Trade for a young OF or Cutchen

Want no part of Saunders coming back. Especially with a DH only player locked up. Saunders is not reliable to play a corner OF spot everyday and Morales should never not DH even in a National League Park.

Get more athletic in the corners if possible. First Base very much needs to be addressed than we can address the bullpen. And start to add depth. Chapman still remains appealing as f***. With no draft pick compensation attached. Keep Osuna as save collector but unleash Chapman in the 6th, 7th, or 8th whenever he's needed in a close game. Just build him up for it and monitor the workload so its not excessive. He would be a massive and fun pickup. I'd definitely pay a premium. But I assume both the Yankees and Red Sox will be all over him. Along with the other heavy hitters. Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, and possibly even Texas.

Yep. The guy is permanently hobbled. His mobility is never coming back. At his best, he's bat only. At his worst, he's a negative on both sides of the ball. He's not a good OF and having a DH with no splits like Morales is way preferable than giving that job to a guy like Saunders who does.

Agree on Saunders

That would be a massive disappointment

If we are moving from Edwin to Morales then we need to upgrade in the corner OF spots, not maintain the status quo

This.

Would be nice to make a statement signing or trade, but I'd be happy with simply an upgrade that doesn't cost $20m AAV or multiple assets.

I'm not a huge Reddick fan but MLBTR predicts 3 years and 36 million for Reddick. That's pretty f***ing reasonable and if we can get him for that i'm all for it.

Same

He stabilizes LF for 3 years, doesn't cost a draft pick and leaves enough $ available compared to ohers you still have probably a bit of payroll to work with

If we divert the resources towards improving relief pitching then I am okay with this. However good relief pitchers tend to be your failed starters. Looking around, we aren't going to be adding the likes of Chapman, so I wonder if there is any point in adding middle of the road guys.

Why would we lose our pick for re-signing our own free agent player.....?

I read it somewhere. Just thought I would ask the astute minds of BJMB

What happened to all the dumbasses here that said Reddick would get close to 100 million? Lol.

Edwin to the Rangers and Bautista to the Astros is my guess.

I thought they were strapped for cash.

Only team that it makes sense for to sign Edwin is the Astros imo. They can afford to give up a pick because their farm is already loaded, plus they can afford it.

If he goes for that low a cost, we had better be the ones that get him regardless of whether Bautista accepts the QO. I wouldn't be surprised to see Reddick get up to 17M per on a 4 year deal.

I don't think I saw anyone suggest 100M.

Yup that's what I am seeing, I have him anywhere from 12-17 mill and unlike some don't know if I would want, especially if we need to go 3-4 years to get or if it's more then 10-12 mill even!

Again we have the Pompey, sorry Todd,Alford kids ready or almost ready to go!
