Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Its easier to make that case with RHP Kluber who also has great movement on a 92-94 FB to go with the breaking balls. Against Merrit its not as easy a case to make that they cant adjust. Fair enough. I just don't like people losing their minds about adjustments. Should David Ortiz have adjusted to the shifts they put on him this year and tried to hit it the other way or bunted more? Or should he have done what he does best and tore the AL a new *******? If Steph Curry misses 6 threes in a row - do you want him to completely change his game and start taking his man down into the post? f*** no. You play to your strengths.
Don Encartista Verified Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 just one swing and it's a new game
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 like the anonymous player said, "lackadaisical"
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Martin didn't show a whole lot of effort in Game 3 when he allowed Napoli to steal 2nd either. I think he's just worn down. He played a shitload of games this season. Need to cut it to 110-120 next year.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Alright this is something lets go!!!
spittin Verified Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I would have left Merritt in honestly, maybe Francona just Gibbon'd one for us.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 If Martin was reading that well he could of easily got to third.
JonMc Verified Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 NOW they start to do the basics
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 3-1 now with a little more hustle out of the box by Martin. Pick him up Zeke.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I had this discussion with a friend the other night. He was beside himself that the Jays didn't adjust against Kluber...cut down their swings, take him the other way, etc. I simply said if it was that easy, Kluber wouldn't be winning Cy Young awards and recognized as one of the best pitchers in baseball. That was the end of our discussion. That's a dumb argument. Kluber is a CY Young pitcher because how he pitches as a whole. He doesn't use the same approach against us as he does the rest of the league. We could have easily adjusted because we knew how he was going to pitch. He was going to pitch that way because we rarely adjust. We could have cut down our swing and some players did and did well. Others still did not.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Pillar's about to get hot boys...
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Pillar is up. Nobody in Cleveland should be worried lol
