I had this discussion with a friend the other night. He was beside himself that the Jays didn't adjust against Kluber...cut down their swings, take him the other way, etc. I simply said if it was that easy, Kluber wouldn't be winning Cy Young awards and recognized as one of the best pitchers in baseball.

 

That was the end of our discussion.

 

I would agree with your point of view... if we adjusted to Tomlin and Merritt

Good season .....but I'm looking forward to changes. To see what Shapiro can do. Ive had enough of most of these veterans. Very disappointing playoffs (offensively speaking). Too much hero ball.

Miller is going to choke and lose his command today. Someone, maybe Martin or Tulo, will hit a season-saving HR off him.

Its easier to make that case with RHP Kluber who also has great movement on a 92-94 FB to go with the breaking balls. Against Merrit its not as easy a case to make that they cant adjust.
