flafson Verified Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 A soft tossing pitcher our lineup has never seen before, that could be bad for us.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Pumped for the game today. Let's Go Jays!
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 You gotta think Cleveland will be sweating if we win today. They still have a lead, but all they have left is Kluber on three days rest. I would think Game 6 is going to be a bullpen game for them. Maybe even today. Maybe Merrit is in there and the moment he starts to struggle the usual suspects will come out.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Tomlin is going in Game 6 on normal rest Yeah I wonder how quick the pull on him will be. Francona is a very smart man. Honestly I don't see Tomlin fooling us twice with that off speed junk.

Honestly I don't see Tomlin fooling us twice with that off speed junk. it's curious to see how they will approach that game. Tomlin can go back to the heavy curveball usage since that worked so well, but maybe now the Jays are looking for it. So Tomlin can go back to his old pitch usage, but that may result in his junkballer numbers like earlier in the season.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Got into a discussion with some German turd tonight in Berlin. Asked what my hat and jersey was and I said blue jays baseball and he went to say baseball ughhh boring and I said football or soccer f***ing sucks and we all laughed and chanted go Jays go! So keep it up Blue Jays. One game at a time force a game 7 and let's get a world series series! You have a pretty loose definition of what constitutes a 'discussion'.

If you're planning on doing something violent to Tomlin that we don't know about, make sure you come back to the forum and delete these posts.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 What do we do with the lineup today? Lefty on the hill but he might only throw 2 or 3 innings. Miller probably throws 2 today as well. I don't think they have any other lefties. Do we set it up with Upton and Barney in there anyway?
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Relax. Game 6 GDT already exists. So the Jays must win game 5 so the universe can maintain its order of causality.

Upton is a little more confusing because you want to have him available WHEN Miller comes in because if its close he will be in.

I'd rather Upton have at least 2-3 at bats against a minor league lefty over 1AB against Miller and keep Saunders on the bench for Allen.

Barney over Goins easily And yeah Upton over Saunders probably too

We also have Pompey that can come in Defensively if they want to use a righty (Navarro or Smoak) To pinch hit for Saunders if he replaces Upton against a righty. There is a few ways they can play it.

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Except he's not getting at least 2-3 ABs. He probably only gets 1 maybe 2. Seriously 1? He should be batting 6th at the furthest down, although Gibby.

If Merritt is getting lit up he won't stay in long my guess is. So could be only 1 and he won't go past the fifth in a close game.... 1 may not be completely out of the question.

Even at 1, he'd probably have a more productive at bat and provide more value against anyone not named Miller.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Barney > Goins Upton > Saunders Zeke is a must-play right now.
